Unrest in Pakistan Setback for Terror War
(Full Story)

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan -- A week of unprecedented urban fighting in the wild tribal belt of North Waziristan has left scores dead and forced thousands to flee their homes, raising the stakes in Pakistan's war on Islamic militancy along the Afghan border.

A jumbled alliance of foreign militants, local tribesmen and Islamic students eager for jihad have stepped up resistance in a region where the army already claims to have wiped out al-Qaida as a viable fighting force.

The unrest, brewing for months, is a setback to the U.S.-led war on terror. Further hampering that effort are deteriorating relations between Pakistan and Afghanistan over Afghan claims that Taliban leader Mullah Omar is hiding in Pakistan and suicide bombers are training here.

ARTICLE SNIPPET: "Terrorists linked to an alleged al-Qa'eda gang which plotted a bombing campaign in Britain tried to buy a radioactive bomb from the Russian mafia, the Old Bailey was told yesterday.

The gang was also said to have discussed attacking the Bluewater shopping centre in Kent, a London nightclub, and gas and electricity facilities

A Luton taxi driver who is said to be a member of the alleged gang was given information while in Pakistan about a "radioisotope bomb", the jury was told.

Salahuddin Amin was asked by a man he knew from a mosque in the Bedfordshire town to contact another man.

Amin contacted the third man via the internet and was told "they had made contact with the Russian mafia in Belgium and from the Mafia they were trying to buy this bomb"."

ARTICLE SNIPPET: "LONDON — Khalid Shaikh Mohammed, al Qaeda's purported operations chief, has told U.S. interrogators that the group had been planning attacks on the Library Tower in Los Angeles and the Sears Tower in Chicago on the heels of the September 11, 2001, terror strikes.
Those plans were aborted mainly because of the decisive U.S. response to the New York and Washington attacks, which disrupted the terrorist organization's plans so thoroughly that it could not proceed, according to transcripts of his conversations with interrogators.
Mohammed told interrogators that he and Ramzi Yousuf, his nephew who was behind an earlier attack on the World Trade Center in 1993, had leafed through almanacs of American skyscrapers when planning the first operation.
"We were looking for symbols of economic might," he told his captors.
He specifically mentioned as potential targets the Library Tower in Los Angeles, which was "blown up" in the film "Independence Day," and the Sears Tower in Chicago. "

Good find Cindy. This article continues to show that it is IMPERITIVE for us to stay on the offensive and stay prepared.

Each day that passes brings us a day closer to the next catastrophic attack. While no one knows when, where, or what; EVERYONE agrees that it's only a matter of time.

We all have only 2 options:
1) ignore the threat and be at the mercy of merciless mobs which is a pre-imposed death sentence by your own hand, or

2) accept YOUR RESPONSIBILITY for your safety and that of your loved ones - it's no guarantee, but it increases your chances of survival

Folks, preparing for a disaster does not mean you will survive but it beats sitting around doing nothing and it does increase your chance of survival.

There are people who want to kill us. They have plainly stated it and have through their actions proved they mean what they say. Many of these vermin walk among us waiting for the chance to kill as many of us as possible. Our military and security forces will not be able to stop them forever - it is only a matter of time.
