Which American company is taking over the terminals or will they just remain empty? Any thoughts anyone?

They aren't empty now, they are operated by the Brit company, but they just pulled that part of the buyout of the Brit companies assets off the table.

While I can understand why they'd be upset, the fact that they pulled out so early in the 45 day review period makes one wonder if there wasn't something more to this that would have been discovered by a more thorough review.

I had never thought the DPW had any nefarious motives, but was concerned about any folks they might send to work here. They'd be management folks, but might also be a Uncle Achmed's third son, nepotism is rampant in Arab lands, who unbeknownst to Uncle Achmed or his nephew, had come under the spell of a firebrand Wahabbist Imam, and been put in contact with Hamas, or Al Qaeda.

Or they saw the 62-2 vote yesterday and realized that even with the 45 day review they wouldn't win over Congress.

I wasn't happy about the sale of the ports, but I believe that the way this was handled from beginning to end will cause us to lose far more security than we gain.

The only possible positive is that XXX-42's consulting check might bounce now.

DPW pulled out because Congress was going to nix the deal, not because DPW was afraid something would be discovered.

More likely, our politicians were afraid something was going to be discovered, about themselves, so they didn't want to let the investigation proceed.

Did you not see the bill Congress put forth yesterday?!?! Dubai bent over backwards to try to give the US time to review and what do WE do? Spit in their faces.

So now Dubai knows there was never any intention to give them a fair, impartial review and they decide it's not worth the freaking hassle and the risk of damaging relations further and when they pull out of the deal people want to kick them in the ass on their way out the door.

I'm disgusted with all the witch-hunting, racist and/or paranoid Americans who have surfaced during this deal.
