Whats with the Dubai ports deal bill? (Vanity)
Posted on 03/08/2006 5:25:00 PM PST by wingsof liberty
Whats with the timing on this new bill? I thought Dubai Ports World agreed to an open, visible 45 day investigation on wether they should be in charge of some operations at U.S. ports. Thats what politicians agreed to, and now theyre preparing to introduce a bill that would kill the deal, with billions in aid for Iraq, the Gluf Coast, Afghanistan, etc. also attached to it. This way Bush cant veto it without becoming the bad guy. So why are these politicians unwilling to even wait for the investigation to conclude before they pull this? Its as if I went to a bank to apply for a home loan, I am asked to fill out an application and while I am still filling it out, the loan officer tells me I have been turned down. Hows that for logic?

It is more like you went out to eat, and after you order the appetizer, they come back and tell you that your home loan has been turned down, thus they won't let you have any food.
Demogoguery does that.

Politicians listened to their constituents for once So if a constituient of yours told you jump off a bridge, you would dutifully do it.
That's what happened here, the idiot congressmen are trying to run the WOT, listening to MSM hysteria and in the process piss off an ally on the WOT.

The people we elect to Congress are suppose to act in the best interests of the people who elected them to office. Seems to me that is exactly what they're doing in this case.

And the Senate Democrat Leadership has introduced a bill to create a Department of Port Security. This is NOT abut common sense or fact or reason. It is about whoring after the polls. Hell let's just abolish Congress any vote on EVERYTHING since Congress now needs a poll to tell it what to do.

The Squinter in Chief utterly misplayed this one, lost the PR battle before it began, further cultivated his image as an out of touch, arrogant prick, and our congressional representatives heard that almost all their constituents were against this deal and sticking it to him to make themselves look better.

Hell let's just abolish Congress any vote on EVERYTHING since Congress now needs a poll to tell it what to do. Let's just appoint the head of the executive branch King of the World as long as there's no possibilty of reelection?

Nope wrong again. Bigotry, hysteria and rabid ignorance is NO bases for basing Govt policy. They are suppose to do the RIGHT thing not what the polls say. Might as well abolish the Republic and implement direct Democracy if they have to take a poll every time to decide what they should do. The facts, data and reason are all ON the Port Deal side. Hysteria, guilt by accusation and ignorance all on the Port Critics side. Funny no matter how many lies and disinformation explodes in their face, the port deal hysterics STILL refuse to learn a signal fact. But that would require thought and the Whine All The time Choir has demonstrated over the years political bigotry and ignorance is much more to their liking then THINKING.
