Sounds like typical America smart to me ...

Take one tablet before bed...

Take NO tablets before driving...

Car accidents are now 'Ambien's fault'..quick take it off the market
it's too dangerous for people to use or have in their possesions..

That Ambien stuff is an absolute godsend for eastbound overseas night flights. Sleep soundly all night in economy class, and feel great all the next day in Europe.

Mayber they shouldn't be advertising these drugs on TV, magazines, etc. Maybe they've got the whole country self-medicating. I had no idea this drug has been in use for 13 years, but I must see 13 commercials for it a week on TV.

God forbid you smoke a joint though. And don't be some immigrant grocer and sell cough medicine and a box of matches and aluminum foil to some white trash meth cookers, cause the fed are going to lock you up for that. Keep cleaning the toilets though and the feds will give you every consideration.

Our country is losing its mind. Mine's gone, but I'm just one person.

The danged government just wants to take all the fun out of getting drunk and drugged up and operating "heavy machinery".

There's just nothing like getting really snockered and running a good backhoe or bulldozer.

My SUV forced me to take Ambien before throwing me in the seat and taking me for a wild ride.

The behavior can include driving in the wrong direction or slamming into light poles or parked vehicles...

That's just screwed up.

I've had Ambien over the years which my doctor would only give me 7 pills at a time. I would sleep a total of 4 hrs. I have a real problem sleeping and have for many years. The directions tell you not to drive etc, not to take unless you have a full 8 hrs to devote to sleep, not to drive until you know the side affects. I think Ambien is not very good and I've tried Lunesta which is way worse. I woke up with the most horrible taste in my mouth that lasted hours. Now my quack of a doctor seems to push paxil and zoloft at me each time I go there. I am not depressed and I refuse them each time. I don't bother with sleeping aides anymore, instead I just read or get online until I am sleepy. People who use these drugs need to follow the directions . The scarey thing is that I know many people who drive on Valium and Zanex. All these drugs are not to be used when driving. People need to use medications wisely or the law ought to come down hard on them.

Yeah you've got to watch it with Ambien. I was given a prescription for Ambien a while back and its a very strange drug. As opposed to drugs that just make you very sleepy like Valium, Ambien is a hypnotic drug. Meaning it doesn't just make you sleepy it puts your brain in a different state of mind. My experience is that it takes a while for drugs to take effect on my body so, I decided to take the Ambien tablet early. At exactly 10:30pm I took the pill so I could watch 15 minutes of the news then go to bed. Well I started to feel kind of funny by the start of the news and the next thing I clearly remember is waking up in bed the next morning. When I went downstairs, the TV was still on, a sandwich was made and half eaten, and several board games were spread out on the floor. I had done all these things and not even rememered having done them. I'm glad that I put my keys in a drawer at night, so I couldn't have gotten to them to drive my car. From then on I take the tablets when I'm already in bed reading and ready to go to bed. Be carefull with Ambien take it only when your in bed ready for sleep, don't take it while your sitting up you'll do weird things!! You can google stories of Ambien forgetfullness and hear some weird stories.

I personally have much better results from St. John's Wort. SJW is ostensibly a "mood enhancing" herb. However, when your mood is light, your not anxious and worrying about work, you tend to sleep a lot better. I had difficulty getting a good nights rest, my doctor suggested SJW and I now sleep like log. Drool on the pillow sleep like when I was a teenager. It is amazing what a good night sleep can do to improve your life.

Any sleeping medication I ever tried left me with a "hangover" the next day. Low energy and general malaise.

Ambien induces sleepwalking in some people and I bet that accounts for quite a few accidents and arrests. You get in your car, turn the key and drive and hours later you find yourself behind bars with no idea how you got there. The drug made me do it, stupid.

My wife has sleepwalking troubles already as it is, I sure am glad she isn't on any drugs like this type.

I always get worried about her when I am away from home for a few nights at a time, because that's what gets her nervous/anxious, and then that leads to her sleepwalking.

One time a few weeks ago, I came home after a week away and somehow there were four loafs of bread in the cabinet. My wife said when she woke up on Thursday morning, they were there, and she knows that when she went to bed Wednesday night, they were not.

Needless to say, I am glad that starting next week, I'll be in a new job with much less time away from home!

It happened to be once long ago – but Ambien had nothing to do with it.
I was 18 years old and working at an amusement park. We started at 9:30 AM and worked to 2:00 AM and sometimes 3:00 AM – seven days a week.
One early morning on the way home I suddenly found myself in a cornfield. The last thing I remembered was leaving the park – several miles down the road.

While alcohol and other drugs are sometimes also involved in the Ambien traffic cases, the drivers tend to stand out from other under-the-influence motorists. The behavior can include driving in the wrong direction or slamming into light poles or parked vehicles...

I saw a wreck similar to this happen last week on the interstate during evening rush hour about 5:15pm. For the life of me I still can't figure out what was happening with the driver leading up to the crash. It was bizarre. I wonder, hmmmmmm....
