WASHINGTON (CNN) -- U.S. Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld acknowledged Tuesday the potential for civil war in Iraq but slammed the media for "exaggerated" reports about the security situation following recent violence between religious factions.

Rumsfeld told reporters at the Pentagon that he thought the news coverage since the February 22 bombing of a revered Shiite shrine in Iraq had been filled with inaccurate information that would inflame the situation there.

CNN should remove the quotes from the headline....the media and the Democratic party are active fifth columnists who would love to see American defeat in Iraq.

I am going to stop now because further comments on the media might get me suspended/banned.

No! Keep up the good work!

The "fifth column" business is something most of the "newbies have'nt a clue about. Most everyone these days is under 32 and are clueless about public opinion and propaganda.

I am frankly amazed and surprised that our Administration has'nt spoken out about it sooner.
(Very likely a testament to their judgement and wise restraint.)

By now the bald-faced sedition of the press and the Democrats is so utterly obvious that it is virtually undeniable.

Wonder if there are any empty beds left at GITMO?

How about just dropping them off into the sea on the way to Gitmo ? Or, even better, overshoot a bit and drop them onto the communist paradise that is Cuba.

I agree with your opinion (the media are seditionists) but not this:

"Most everyone these days is under 32..."

I am shocked!, shocked!, that C(X)NN would be blamed by Secretary of Defense Rumsfeld for "exaggerating," whether a civil war is breaking out in Iraq. (Sarcasm off)

A civil war in Iraq would make many elements in the American media happy. Both because it is pure sensationalism, which is mother's milk to the media, and because the majority of the media side with other anti-Americans.

"Wonder if there are any empty beds left at GITMO?"

Plenty of space down at GTMO. Send all the CNN reporters down there as detainees and let them see how good the interned scumbags actually have it.
