Tomorrow, conservatives in the House of Representatives, led by Mike Pence and Jeb Hensarling, will introduce a bold budget that is modeled after the fabled mid-90's Contract with America.

And the party big wigs will immediately declase it dead on arrival. C'mon folks what we have now is a two party system. The Big Spenders vs the REALLY big spenders.

Americans will respect Congressmen who make tough choices for sake of the country's future. You just have to explain yourself and stop being ashamed.

Praise the Lord. Somebody up there still gets it.

[ The Contract with America Lives ]

No it doesn't.. Americans are basically socialists and are getting more socialist.. Pence is urinating up a rope.. Heroic effort to be sure.. The weight of the academic socialist brain wash (of the prospective leaders) in the countrys colleges ensures a socialist outcome.. Socialism is being capitalized through democracy.. The massive Mexican insurgency encouraged by both MOST republicans and ALL democrats ensures more socialism..

Republican leaders could care less about democrat voter fraud -OR- massive Mexican(and other nationality) insurgencys.. In Washingtom D.C. there is a CONTRACT AGAINST AMERICA by BOTH parties..

Certainly, moderates' knees will tremble in fear at the thought of making hard decisions.

Well we can be certain that Dubya is freaking out... he may actually have to use his veto!!!

Pence's heart is in the right place, but unfortunately, even this modest budget-cutting proposal has ZERO chance of getting through this Congress. The revolution of 1994 seems like a million years ago. {Sigh}

Be sure to see post #8.
If you loved Ronald Reagan and all that he stood for you will most assuredly appreciate the Republican Study Committee's top ten legislative priorities for 2006.

Good luck with that. Wonder if Bush will veto this or not. The very fact I have to ask this question is sad.

"Many of the votes that were there for the first Contract should still be there for the second."

BWAHAHAHAHAHAA! Yeah, and I bet they'll vote to impeach Clinton, too!

This is exactly what the Republican Congress should be doing. ..five years ago.

To fix the public perception mess they're in, they need to start passing some constitutional amendments, not budgets. Still, this is better than nothing.

More rearranging the Titanic deck chairs.

If SS/Medicare/Medicaid aren't addressed, then any reform bill that "cuts" gov't spending is dead in the water.
