She died of lung cancer. Haven't found any links yet. Heard it on WLSAM Chicago.
With all the compounds and chemicals in our environment today, any of us predisposed to such an illness can and may be more inclined to get the disease.
God bless that family. The grief, how sad.
Not all smokers get cancer. The maximum figure is around 25%.
Second hand smoke in a killer only anectodally. All Scientific studies indicate otherwise.
Not all lung cancer victims are smokers.
Every human being, if they live long enough, will die of some form of cancer.
I didn't know anything about her but I agree with you on the second hand smoke thing - especially around children. I have the most beautiful five year old grandson who had been a two pound preemy. I try not to preach but if there were one thing I could do I'd have my daughter-in-law stop smoking. She believes that smoking in the basement family room when my grandson is in another part of the house is okay.
It's nine years for me without a relapse. Probably the single most important thing a person can do. But, it's legal and people have the right to kill themselves with their vice of choice.
Why would Christopher Reeve be with God if he did not believe in Him in the first place?
I don't understand this type of thinking. Do you think Jesus is a liar?
I do hope Chris had a conversion because during his time on earth Chris was not too found of Christians, Christianity and monotheism.
Prayers for the children.
When you ASSUME, you make an ASS out of U and ME.
Actually, second hand smoke is getting kind of a bad rap here. At least it's cheaper.
Terrible. How tragic.
I misspelled her name too in the title of this thread.:(
Even some online stories have her name wrong too.
Perhaps. But where had she lived during her life? Radon gas has been linked to lung cancer. So has asbestos. And so has air pollution, in general. I'm sure there are statistical links to lots of possibilities, including Presidient Bush, global warming, and SUV's. But I'm not about to assume second hand smoke was the cause.
Thanks for correcting the title!
As for your assertion that pot never killed anybody, I suggest you read:
Down by the River : Drugs, Money, Murder, and Family
by Charles Bowden
I didn't agree with the Reeve's viewpoint on experimenting with embryonic stem cells, but this was sad to hear that her child is now an orphan. Prayers to their families.

Nor would you get one to sell aspirin.
Why was it no surprise? I was shocked. She was so young, didnt smoke and surely caught it early. Prayers for those kids.
Very sad news.
I'm sure she and Christopher are together again.
Prayers for their family.
