What really galls me is that the Bush administration seems to have taken the same attitude toward the war in Iraq. Right now they're sitting on millions of pages of documents that would almost assuredly prove that Saddam and Al Quaeda had a compellingly close relationship before the liberation. Indeed, those same documents and tapes of Saddam's private conversations could well prove that he was up to his eyeballs in the planning and execution of 9/11. If that material was released, it would devastate the DemonRat party for the next generation. Nevertheless, and inexplicably, it hasn't been released and Bush has been left to defend against baseless charges that he lied us into the war and every other conceivable slander and libel.

I could understand the "new tone" as an initial olive branch to the other side, offered in the hope that they would similarly reciprocate. Instead, they reciprocated by shoving a dung pie into Bush's face. After that he should have gone for the DemonRats' collective jugulars. He didn't and that's why he's in the present mess. The whole thing's disgusting and incomprehensible.

I agree. In the short run, going after them probably would have been messy, but it sure would have saved him (and us) a lot of grief further on.

"tapes of Saddam's private conversations could well prove. . . "

I can't understand that either except, maybe the fox is much smarter than we give him credit for. I remember the 04 elections and everybody was so sure Bush blew it and even the first reports from the news had Skerry winning. Remember?

Once they are released in two weeks they will be forgoten.

Maybe, Just maybe the old fox is holding them, for the exact perfect time. He sure played Skerry perfectly.
