Police: 7 Teens Invaded Homes For 'Adrenaline Rush'
POSTED: 12:09 pm EST March 6, 2006
UPDATED: 4:29 pm EST March 6, 2006
Police in Palm Bay, Fla., arrested seven teens in the last several days wanted in connection with a series of home break-ins that were apparently committed because the group wanted an "adrenaline rush," according to a police report. David Deluna, 18, Matt Rivera, 19, and a 16-year-old were charged with grand theft and burglary charges Monday. Another four suspects were taken into custody and charged on Friday, Local 6 News partner Florida Today reported. "When these three realized that we were looking for them on Friday, they left together and went to the beach," said Jesse Suelter, a Palm Bay detective working on the case. "We arrested one on Saturday and found the other two sleeping at their residences today." Police said the seven teens knew each other from work and school. All came from upper middle class homes but told authorities they carried out the crimes for "an adrenaline rush," Suelter told Florida Today. The teens randomly picked homes to break into during the day and early evening, Suelter said. In one home they stole a gun. In others, cash, electronics and jewelry were taken. He also said the teens would ring doorbells and if they did not get an answer they would kick in the doors. "The suspects were very arrogant and the attitude they had was unbelievable. I explained the possibility that one of them could get hurt or shot. One of them told us that he was a big boy and that 'I think I could take 'em,' " Suelter said.

1st) My Gold Cup holds 8.
2nd) How many of those 7 kids are going to stick around after 3 shotgun blasts, to see whether you've removed the plug or not?

I'm assuming the "four others" were juveniles. It's amazing that this thread has gotten this far with someone not asking about parental control. 'Just goes to show that few people on this forum actually expect parental supervision from parents in the general public anymore.

Parental control? The story states up front that they were all from upper middle clas homes. IOW, the parents were probably too busy at the office, golf course, whatever, to be bothered by the 'kids'. "Here's some money, go entertain yourself at the mall" only goes so far before the 'kids' get bored. Parental control is about as contemporary as an 8-track player anymore.

I've never fired one with a suppressor, it's quiet enough as it is. Make sure it's on semi or you'll wreck the drywall.

6 in mine but I'd chase the last one down and beat him to death with the pistol butt.

It makes you think doesn't it? Actually, I wouldn't be prepared. Although my Mossberg 500 holds 9 in the tube and 4 in the speed stock, I don't keep it out because of our young kids.

Just like those two kids in Vermont who killed the college proffesors from Germany. Doing it to see what it felt like.

Woe if it were my son!
Then again, my son wouldn't do that.
Great parenting!!

Although I'm a big fan of high-capacity magazines, these sound like spoiled suburban mallrats and after you blow down the first two I'm guessing that the rest would be running as fast as their $250. sneakers could carry them. LMAO...
I'd wager you'd need a case of Bounty paper towels the second the gun made an appearance. Then it would look like one of the old LA Laker fast breaks!

I also have a M52 105mm Self-Propelled Howitzer parked up on the ridge. Got it cheap on surplus. I won't call in indirect fire support on my own position unless I absolutely have to, though.

...some of these teens probably got the idea from watching the drug cops day after day that break into private homes for the exact same reasons these kids did.I know a number of LEO's. They love the rush, as much as any other junkie. My eldest son did SWAT for a while, and told some inelegant stories about his buddies. Now he is a SGT for a town force. Of course, they get a badge and a "get out of jail free" card (or license plates)...

Ha ha! How much does each round cost? Playing w/ an M60 I can blow through $100 a minute.
To: WoofDog123
got my 870 with 5 by the door, my sig with 9 and two spare mags with 9 each under the bed, and my AR with 30, and 2 spare 30s under the bed.
that should cover it.

ok, how many folks' preferred home defense weapon has 7 or more rounds loaded right now? 7 rounds with spare mag for the primary handgun (or 10 and 10 if I have the HK out that day), 12 guage shotgun with extended mag tube as backup in the bedroom (handgun is easier to keep nearby wherever you are in the house). If THAT isn't enough, hopefully they've slowed down enough that I could slap in the loaded twenty rounder into the AR.
Probably wouldn't be much left of the house at the end of the day.
To: Stoat
Concealed carry isntructors adamantly recommend to shoot to kill the kids trying to crawl through the window or enter the door. Then drag them into the house. One opinion is better than two.
