ABC EXCLUSIVE: Iraq Weapons -- Made in Iran?
ABC News ^ | March 6 2006 | BRIAN ROSS, JILL RACKMILL and RICHARD ESPOSITO

Posted on 03/06/2006 1:34:45 PM PST by jmc1969

U.S. military and intelligence officials tell ABC News that they have caught shipments of deadly new bombs at the Iran-Iraq border.

They are a very nasty piece of business, capable of penetrating U.S. troops' strongest armor.

What the United States says links them to Iran are tell-tale manufacturing signatures — certain types of machine-shop welds and material indicating they are built by the same bomb factory.

"The signature is the same because they are exactly the same in production," says explosives expert Kevin Barry. "So it's the same make and model."

U.S. officials say roadside bomb attacks against American forces in Iraq have become much more deadly as more and more of the Iran-designed and Iran-produced bombs have been smuggled in from the country since last October.

"I think the evidence is strong that the Iranian government is making these IEDs, and the Iranian government is sending them across the border and they are killing U.S. troops once they get there," says Richard Clarke, former White House counterterrorism chief and an ABC News consultant. "I think it's very hard to escape the conclusion that, in all probability, the Iranian government is knowingly killing U.S. troops."

U.S. intelligence officials say Iran is using the bombs as a way to drive up U.S. casualties in Iraq but without provoking a direct confrontation.

"They penetrate the armor of an M1 Abrams tank," Clarke says. "They're shape charges. They go through anything, and they are very lethal."

oooooo....Now Iran is making me really, really mad! Those numnuts just keep uping the ante, don't they?

As Bush has said, "Bring it On!" It's time we put the fear of God ( and the US airforce) into them!

"I think the evidence is strong that the Iranian government is making these IEDs, and the Iranian government is sending them across the border and they are killing U.S. troops once they get there," says Richard Clarke, former White House counterterrorism chief and an ABC News consultant.

And in future News: "ABC News consultant Richard Clarke said today that the invasion of Iran was totally unjustified and based on lies. "No one I spoke to thought that Iran was supplying weapons." he said."

So basically we are already at war with Iran.

And have been since November 4, 1979.

Has ABC picked up on the news that we've already found arms from France , Germany and Russia there too? Like 3 years ago?

So can we expect to see this story at the beginning of every MSM news cast tonight at 6pm? Or will they say that they need more definitive proof before airing the story?

I'm sure that when and if they report it, it will be in the manner that "the Iranians would not be doing this if the US was not conducting an illegal war".

***Wonder how long we're going to tolerate this?***

Until the American left realizes we are actually fighting a war for THIER very survival....

They aren't smart enough to figure out that it's THIER lifestyle choices the mullahs point to when they say we must all die!!!

Kinda a one sided war if you ask me.

Like to send those IEDs back to Iran, one at a time.

Why not a stealth missile attack on the factory.....of course, unlike our previous surprise attacks, the missiles must have all USA stickers and ID removed. Needs to look like an accident. How about using a captured Russian rocket?

Or assign one of our Guantanamo "friends" who want out anyhow, to be trained as a one way suicide bomber in a pilotless plane.

In the 1950s, the NKs would fire a single rifle shot at US soldiers on the DMZ as a provocative move. We never did anything about these incidents.

In a 15 minute period we should blow every dam and power plant and let them focus on their infrastructure for a while.

Could this not be taken as an official declaration of war by Iran against the US?
