Corruption in texas - I try and inform everywhere (Texas-size helping of live chow)
Posted on 03/06/2006 8:47:02 AM PST by California citizen
The state of texas in a whole are a bunch of redneck habitual civil rights violators. I've had several encounters with the powers that be mostly in the city of san antonio. They keep the city downtown clean and nice for tourists by locking people up in the bexar county jail.
They receive money for each head in there, so you know it is overcrowded. The gaurds are abusive and feel as thought they will never get in trouble. The jail has been under investigation but to no avail thanks to the good ole' boys in the rest of the state. They trump up charges in order to extort money out of you and throw the book at anyone that tries to question their authority. I read a quote once that stated that "Absoulute power corrupts absolutly", which is the case in the whole crooked state. I could go on all day about the exploits of the legal system in the state. Not to mention the small hick towns like fort stockton, tx. This city and county located on I-10 right past elpaso.
This county is what you call a tourist trap, they make their own rules and no one seems to care. The department of public safety is just as active a participant in all criminalistic practices as well as the district attorneys, and judges. Someone needs in investigate the whole situation you can talk to just about anyone in their system and they will tell you. These practices needs to stop. Tourists need to stop visiting texas and spending their money their. They are just encouraging these criminalistic practices.
The state of texas in a whole needs to be taught that the good ole' days are over. So in short do not visit the state of texas and do not support the evil.

Sounds like somebody came to "visit" and found out they couldn't break the laws Of San Antonio or Texas with the same impugnity they enjoy in whatever liberal Kah-lee-phon-ya hellhole they normally befoul.
Admittedly, they enforce the speed limit aggressively in the Ft. Stockton area. Perhaps too aggressively. You can always check them out at WWW.speedtrap.com.

Hippy from California goes to Texas to buy some pot from some locals because he heard it was some great local weed. He then gets arrested and despite his protestations that it is for 'medicinal' reasons he locked up. While mouthing off he is told politely to sit down. This because his abuse.
I don't know if this is how it happened it just seem to fit the rant.

You are just ticked that you pay $557 a year to register your 94 Honda with the DMV in CA....and TX folks pay $87 for the same car. It's not quite that bad here. I pay $68 a year for my '93 Jeep Wrangler. And there still are some counties where you don't have to smog.

Please believe me, the State is not out to get all visitors, this was a one time State-wide set up for you alone. I have the bulletin right here in my email.
Did you at least get to taste the Tex-Mex food in SA?

San Antonio is lovely. Visited once, enjoyed it immensely, hope to take the family there soon.
Maybe I can wear my boots.
