HAS ANYBODY SAID IT YET? BOYCOTT THE OSCARS Aren't they coming up in the next month or so?
To: freedom4me
That would mean I had to watch them to be able to not watch them.

Boycott Bump! The worst thing about tonight is how the networks bump off our favorite shows to make room for this worthless exercise in pompous self-indulgence. Spare me. I have other plans.

How many REAL people actually care about a bunch of freaks putting on a private club's show?

I want to see Mel Gibson speaking in Mayan, other than that the Oscars interest me zip. And I love movies. But the themes in this year's crop of movies are just a total turn off.

From the looks of this thread, I think lots of people are steering clear of the Oscars. http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1590479/posts?page=87#87
I'm not watching for the first time in my adult life. I'm really boycotting the show.
To: freedom4me
I've never watched it in the past, and I certainly do not intend to start...
To: freedom4me
... but I'll say in anyway...BOYCOTT THE OSCARS tonight. So, how will you join the gossiping for the next few day, not knowing how tacky things were that some "people" had the audacity to wear?!!
To: freedom4me
Why bother? No one's going to watch them anyway.

Wouldn't a boycott draw more attention to something that is obviously waning in it?
That's ok, I will just go ahead and ignore both the Oscars and any boycotts of the oscars.

A formal boycott of the Oscars would be counterproductive - it would draw attention to them. I'm not going to boycott them; I'm just not going to watch them.

There's just something about watching a horrible accident though. You say you aren't going to do it, but then your head turns ever so slightly and look at it anyway.

Maybe I need a tinfoil hat, but has anybody else noticed there isn't anything worth watching on TV tonight? Not even "The Simpson's" is on tonight. I think it's a Hollywood conspiracy to make sure the Nielsen's ratings are high for the homo love fest.
