I suppose on this thread it goes without saying, but I'll say in anyway...BOYCOTT THE OSCARS tonight.
I want the ratings for this year's program go into the toilet (where most the nominated movies belong). I won't waste my money to see the films, my electricity to watch the Oscars, or my time watching to witness Hollywood's self-adulation fest.
Pass it on...
BrokeButt Mountain got three - Director, Adapted Screenplay and Original Score.
In best Groucho Marx impersonation....
That sure was an original score - ba da bum....
I think Hollywood figured out if they gave "Broken-back" the best picture award then another 50 million people would stop going to the movies.
They couldn't afford to lose any more at the box office.
you're welcome back anytime...the metro population has about tripled and shows no signs of slowing down
boomtown
Really?! LOL.
I appreciated the Barney Fife updates.
My ultra-conservative son said the same thing - - 'Crash' is not an overly judgmental film, nor is it accusatory , overbearing, politically correct, or in-your-face in any way. He says it's a flat-out great movie.
I think the Academy got it right.
Let the, "Oh that'th thimply ridiculeth", wails of the sodomy community begin.
Feel free to skip it, unless you like to beaten over the head with a message that is both contrived and trite.
Some decent performances are buried under the sanctimony, however.
Thank you. That is my oscar!
You didn't like it I take it. Didn't you get a tear in your eye, when the cynical and hardened got in touch with their conscience and refused to cross the line into the abyss? Most have some good in them, along with the bad. The movie captured that essential human aspect.
Celebrity does funny things to writers.
As if they didn't make their true feelings already clear by the HYPE for the last few months...
I remember in my military service days going to movies helped past the time. Brokeback Mountain don't think would make it pass the base command. Course I was in the USMC maybe the Navy would let it slide.
Well deserved!
Pamela Anderson looks like trailer trash!
The movies that I want to see now are: Walk the Line, and Pride and Prejudice.
Missed the third -Thanks Dashing Dasher-good eye:)
Your son is right.
I found it to be quite interesting. I wouldn't pan it until you see it. It has some pretty good twists to it. It's not a bad movie.
