TRENTON, N.J. (AP) -- A mock war-crimes trial of President Bush at a Parsippany high school continued Friday, despite criticism from people across the nation who heard about the classroom exercise from a prominent Web site and talk-radio programs.
James Dwyer, Parsippany-Troy Hills School District interim superintendent, said the mock hearing in the 12th-grade politics and government class would continue, but a verdict by a five-teacher "international court of justice" panel would not be rendered as originally planned.
After a two-hour meeting with the school board president, the high school principal and a curriculum superintendent, Mr. Dwyer said Friday that the project was in keeping with the district's curriculum and had received prior administrative approval.
The class is an advanced-placement elective, he said, and the lesson explores current events and foreign policy in an interactive way.
"The focus is on the process itself, not on any outcome," Mr. Dwyer said.
Phone messages left at Parsippany High School for the course's instructor, Joseph Kyle, were not returned. Mr. Dwyer said Mr. Kyle has taught with the district for eight years.
Mr. Dwyer said he and the school's principal have received more than two dozen e-mails and phone calls about the course since the Drudge Report Web site posted a link to a newspaper article about the class. Talk-radio programs also apparently have discussed the course, Mr. Dwyer said, and listeners contacting the district were 10-1 against allowing the mock hearing.
But students involved in the project, which began Monday after several weeks of research, said the decision to hold a mock trial over Mr. Bush's purported "crimes against civilian populations" and "inhumane treatment of prisoners" had been agreed upon by all 27 classmates.

These sorry pieces of sh## are wasting my tax money. Close the terrorist school down.
Compare the Vegas line on "conviction" with the NEA's.That should give an indication of how this will go.
So true! LOL!
I have to be honest, I would love to have been able to do this when I was in high school. I would have loved to been the defense attorney and tore the prosecutions case into little bits.
Conservatism came to the forefront by challenging this stuff and exposing it for what it is. Logic and common sense crushes lies and emotion in the long run. If you can convince 10 kids out of 50 you have already won, and if you do it right, your classmates will remember you when they are older. It will stick with them.
Well said!
William Jefferson Blythe Clinton for his illegal Balkan War.War Criminals, yep we have a few. But Dubya 'ain't' one of them.Sitting besides him in the dock should be his 'commanding general' Wesley Clark for indiscriminate bombing of Serbian civilians from 30,0000 feet with dumb bombs.
Furthermore, Willard's SOS, Maddy 'The Wash Woman" Not-so-bright should be there as a co-conspirator. As she was the one who egged Willard on to start his little war with her famous quote, "Why do we have all these neat weapons if we can't use them."
If they were only this passionate about real-life dictators such as Mugabe and Castro....but that would mean imprisonment and torture were they to protest in those countries....
If that happens, they will look back on this mock trial as good practice for the impeachment that is sure to follow.
This high school, like thousands of others just like it across America have become nothing more than official state=run anti-American NEA/DNC Madrasas.
GOOD one!
Lotsa traffic. ;o)
Snoopy looks great!

Who cares? The students unanimously agreed to try it out, and they're going to be debating both sides. What happened to the creationists refrain to "teach the controversy"? Maybe they should have called it something else, but isn't hearing both sides better than hearing a liberal teacher cram his version down their throat?
According to the article, it's not about the outcome, the focus is on the process itself. If that's true, make the focus of the 'process' a war crimes trial of SADDAM HUSSEIN or Osama Bin Laden, NOT the POTUS. We are at war and IMO this behavior is traitorous.
Which is exactly what I said in my e-mail.

Amen. I live right by Parsippany and I know lots of people from it. Its a great oppurtunity to learn about politics and the people who are blasting about it all have one thing in common - they don't know anything about it.
A thought for the Pro-EU/UN Cadre to ponder:
"People laugh that we can't find bin Laden in some remote part of the Pakistan border, but European NATO cannot find the two most wanted war criminals right on its own soil."
