BAGHDAD , Iraq Coalition Forces conducted multiple raids Feb. 27. northeast of Fallujah to capture Al-Qaeda in Iraq facilitators involved in the logistical support of suicide bombers, foreign fighters and funding terrorist activities.
Based on intelligence and reporting, numerous safe houses were targeted by Coalition Forces.
Troops detained a total of 61 individuals who will be questioned regarding their knowledge of, or involvement in, terrorist activities.
There were a large number of weapons and ammunition found during the raids, and the caches were destroyed in place.
A sad day at DNC headquarters.
Oh no, not more "Key Al Qaeda members"... they must be cloning or something...
Well, according to hollywood, George Clooney, Steven Spielberg, etc, the terrorists are the good guys.
I wonder how many second in commands' and number two men in Zarquawi's organization were rounded up in this one?

Look, I realize that it's Friday, that everybody's drinkin' and having a great time and all, but please do keep in mind that 1 or 2 U.S. soldiers are dying each day in Iraq so that these sorts of terrorists aren't able to destablizie the Middle East or attack the U.S.
While Hitlery and her fellow America-haters mourn their capture.
I realize that it seems like we're always getting the bridesmaids and never the bride...
But I think it is fair to say that every one of these dudes we take off the street is a good thing. I *don't* believe the common line that there's some perpetual well of new recruits for AQ. I think when we take some off the street, there's fewer of them on the street.
We'll get Zarkawi. One of these days.
They should be shot. They wouldn't give us or any of our allies as big a break.
What's sad is that in today's political climate, there seems to be a need to let the entire world know who, when, and where the captures happened.
I agree with everyone that we need to get our troops home, but maybe if we fought this war like...oh, nevermind.
There are so few left, any one captured is called a "key Al Qaeda member".
Thanks for the post, SandRat!
Wake me up when we have Zarwawi, Bin Laden, and Omar.
make that "Zarqawi", or however it's being spelled this week.
ping
Dammit. Don't call them Al-Qaeda leaders. Call them Dubai portworkers.
Any HVTs?
Don't know
Curious if this had anything to do with the surprise curfew in Baghdad today?
