US pop diva Madonna wants to buy a house in the Israeli town of Rosh Pina, where the ancient Jewish Kabbalah tradition expects the Messiah to appear at the end of the world.
Yediot Aharonot said the owner of a 100-year-old, ramshackle five-bedroom villa overlooking the Sea of the Galilee had been recently contacted several times by representatives of the superstar with a view to selling his property.
According to the same source, Madonna wants to renovate the building into a centre of study of mystical Jewish texts pored over by Kabbalah followers.
The self-proclaimed Material Girl, a keen aficionado of the ancient Jewish mystical tradition, last visited Israel in September 2004.
She turned to Kabbalah in 1997 through the Los Angeles-based Kabbalah Centre which proclaims to offer a path to spiritual enlightenment through an eclectic mix of Orthodox Jewish tradition, visualisation and positive thinking.
Two years ago, she took the Hebrew name Esther and reportedly observes the Jewish sabbath, although she has not converted to Judaism.
One of her recent dance tracks is called "Isaac", the name of famous Kabbalah Rabbi Isaac Louria who lived and worked in the now northern Israeli town of Safed during the 16th century.
Is she already working on her Yiddisheh accent already?
What a charming prospect:
Uberslut desecrates the Holy Land.
I cannot understand why any rabbi would associate himself with that filthy female.
OH ALouette SJackson did you hear about this???? LOL!
"Is she already working on her Yiddisheh accent already?"
LOL! That won't work for her, she from like Ohio or someplace. That only works for Dr. Laura, native of Brooklyn, NY, for her it works! Also helps that Dr. L. is actually 1/2 Jewish.
I don't get it, but apparently she thinks because her stage name is Madonna, that she is above everyone else. She has spent her entire adult life desecrating everything that is moral. Now that she is a mother, and wife, we, including God are supposed to ignore all that.
Been there, done that and even got named after his mother.
She clawed her way right into her unhappy life.
Them's fightin' words! She's from what Woody Hayes called "that state up north".
I guess she is one of those who likes to hear her bad news first.
I wonder if she'll do a music video while grinding her hips against the Wailing Wall?
I don't think the Messiah will appreciate being greeted by a whore.
Fr. Benedict Groeschel has prayed for her conversion for years. I'm hoping that she returns to the Church some day.
Oops, sorry Michigan! I googled her.
For decades she mocked anything that was good and pure, she should not be rewarded now.

Rosh Pina was settled in 1882 by a group of pioneers from Romania, making it the first Jewish village in the Upper Galilee in modern times. Rosh Pina's lands were purchased in 1878 by Jews from Tzfat, who tried unsuccessfully to earn their livelihood as farmers.
Arabs from neighboring villages frequently attacked Jewish traffic near the town. In 1938, Betar youth member Shlomo Ben Yosef took part in a retaliatory attack. He was captured by British officers and became the first freedom fighter hung by the British. Rosh Pina residents honored his memory by setting up a monument in the local cemetery.
Rosh Pina presently numbers 1860 residents.
