The feds have launched a criminal probe of powerful New York Central Labor Council AFL-CIO head and Queens Assemblyman Brian McLaughlin as part of an alleged city bid-rigging scam involving hundreds of millions of dollars in street-lighting contracts. FBI spokesman James Margolin confirmed the investigation after agents searched the Central Labor Council's offices on West 15th Street yesterday, hauling off suitcases filled with financial records. Margolin declined further comment. The actions sent shock waves through New York political and union circles. As a state lawmaker and labor boss, McLaughlin, a top Democrat, dealt with nearly all the city's elected officials and union leaders.

Sitting NY State Assembly McLaughlin also gets paid by the government for heading the Central Labor Council, a govt agency that pushes the local union's agenda. This includes the big amnesty push a couple of summers ago. In addition to the main offices, his State Assembly office was raided in Queens yesterday mornining by the FBI. My source said that since the FBI showed up at 8AM, the office wasnt open and the landlord had to call his office manager to get the place opened up. This is why NY needs John Galt.

she keeps the unions out of her restaurants and vineyard, so she is just an old fashioned hypocrite. McLaughlin inherited his union connections to IBEW 3 and is more old school corrupt democrat.
