The first gay couple to be unofficially married in New Paltz, Billiam vanRoestenberg and Jeffrey McGowan, are splitting up after two years of marriage.
VanRoestenberg told midhudsonnews.com of the split and that he is very distraught over it. McGowan is said to have been the partner that sought the separation.
According to midhudsonnews.com, the New York State courts have ruled that marriage, as defined by the state Constitution, is a union between a man and a woman. No court decision invalidated any of the solemnizations between the same-sex couples in New Paltz.
Almost exactly two years ago, on Feb. 27, 2004 New Paltz Village Mayor Jason West married 25 same sex couples. McGowan and vanRoestenberg were the first to walk down the aisle.
This is a very happy day for me, my partner Jeff and for the citizens of the U.S., vanRoestenberg told The Oracle two years ago. If you fight and believe in good things, they will happen.
The national divorce rate is around 50 percent in the United States and in states like Massachusetts, where same-sex marriage was legalized in May 2004, it was expected with same-sex marriage, same-sex divorce would follow.
In N. California, when all of the gay marriage stuff hit, a lot of lawyers starting having found dreams of a lucrative new niche in their practice, handling gay divorces/dissolutions or whatever they will be called .
One lawyer we know predicted that a lot of gays and lesbian lawyers would come out of their convenience of marriage closets to be in on what he called the new California Gold Rush for divorce lawyers. He said that the cover of Marriage by these homosexual lawyers would be dropped by many so they can fully participate in the upcoming Gold Rush. He said recently that at least one lawyer has moved to dissolve his marriage and will be openingly after the gay divorce market. He said that a lesbian lawyer is in the process of dumping her cover husband to get in the new upcoming Gold Rush.
And anyone who wondered why the American Bar Association would support gay marriages and thought that it had to do with their sense of fair play is a maroon......it had to do with anticipated future business that is now coming to fruition.
Only a couple of homosexuals could be so mentally deranged as to honestly think marriage is just about 'love' and sex.
The "divorce" rate of these sodomites will be far far higher on average when all is said and done.
Good point. I bet that a lot of them think "Oh, if we could just get married, then maybe we will feel intimacy and satisfaction between us." But there is no satisfaction or true intimacy to be found in such a "union." That's not the way God designed it to be.
Looks like the hippies from The Amazing Race.
IBTZ! Bye!!!
