They probably have some pretty good hashish parlors in India. Now I've listened to the audiotape and that's really my guess.

Well, who among us hasn't crossed that fine line between "relaxed" and "utterly shitfaced"?

I know a**holes and the occasionally fugly ones (yes, you Helen) are SOP around here, but please, can we draw the line at falling-down-drunk in here??
Can someone call Security? Do we have Security here? I mean, even Walmart has Security ...

Reads more like he was stoned than drunk.... That's what I think too. Really, I'm wondering how many grown men have folks here known to get the giggles when drunk and still be able to talk about a nuclear deal. The tape's not great quality, but I was unable to detect any slurring in his speech. I can sooner believe that 1) he was high or 2) he's just a giggling idiot with some mental problems before I'd believe he was drunk.

I heard the phone call and it sounded like he was having a laughing fit rather than being drunk. After he was able to compose himself he delivered his report without stumbing or slurring his words. It would be hard to do that if he were plastered.

IMUS: Are you drunk?
GREGORY: [Laughter] [Laughter]
IMUS: Are you all right David?
GREGORY: Hey, check this out! (clunk!) (clunk!)
(clunk!)
IMUS: What was that??!!?
GREGORY: That was my skull! I'm so wasted!!

Not that I wouldn't LMAO if he was but Imus calls about everyone he ever talks to "a drunk". Part of his routine. Non-event IYAM. Gregory is still a first call a$$hat though...
To: new yorker 77
Well, I think Mark Steyn outlined Gregory's problem in a recent column in which he wrote:
"So anyway David Gregory's going bananas and yelling "I will yell!" and "Don't be a jerk!"...... and I'm thinking, you know, maybe Karl's latest range of Rovebots that he planted in American media corporations are just a wee bit too parodically self-absorbed to be plausible."
Obviously, Gregory must have missed his regularly scheduled maintenance and software upgrade before Rove released him for the trip to India.
To: BadAndy
Oh.
He was taken out of context.
Let me get President Bush's take on it.

Since Gregory did not take a breathalyser test, we can all assume he was drunk as per 'The Cheney Standard'.
