The Enemy Within Two cases suggest the next terror strike on U.S. soil will be carried out not by foreigners but by Americans

Lodi, Calif., is nestled in a sleepy agricultural area 35 miles outside of Sacramento. The Pakistani population in the city of about 60,000 has grown exponentially over the past several decades and now numbers several thousand. Local non-Muslims, when interviewed by media, have given little indication they suspected virulently anti-American Islam was practiced there.

Yet prior to coming to the United States, the imam of a local mosque encouraged his flock to travel from Pakistan to Afghanistan to aid the Taliban in its struggle against the United States. Months later – apparently armed with the same message – Imam Shabbir Ahmed moved to the United States.

During his deportation hearings last summer, Ahmed admitted he exhorted his followers in Pakistan to take up arms against the United States. But he insisted that it was only because he was compelled to. “It was a requirement of all imams,” he testified in open court. “If you don’t, people turn against you.”

Ahmed insists that his views on jihad changed after he fell in love with the country he has called home since January 2002. “Having come here, there are true values and respect for human life,” he said through a translator. “When I saw such a picture, my mind changed. Now I know what the truth is. I think there is justice here, respect here.”

Emerging facts paint a different picture. Authorities believe Ahmed is separated by only a few degrees from Osama bin Laden. Questions have been raised about why Ahmed was allowed into the United States at all.

According to federal authorities, at least seven of Ahmed’s followers at the Lodi ....

Questions have been raised about why Ahmed was allowed into the United States at all.

These fear pieces just highlight how stupid our strategy is
fight wars over territory you have no intrest in occupying,
yet allow Abdul and his Imam buddy to wander in at will over
any unprotected border you care to name. Then dis allowing
profiling of Arab males at check-points, well Duh!

I have a radical suggestion for all that are worried about muslims in America. First urge the Govt the make sure there is no subverive activity going on. Second is this. If your in area that has a heavey muslim population invite the adults into the Lions club or the Jaycees or the Chamber of commercethe masons, the bridge club etc. Go volunterr and get the kids on the local football team, 4 h, Circle K, Soccer league etc. The key is intergration into the community. As to any immigrant community many keep to thmselves out of a little fear. Postive actions can do wonders

Pretty naive plan if you ask me. Most if not all Muslims tend to keep to their own, Take Beverly Hills as a perfect example. Probably the greatest concentration of Persions in all of California. Invite them to a community get together? Good Luck with that, they will never show up. They will shop at the Orthodoz Jewish market because the prices can't be beat, but if you press them, they will tell you, without much propting, they wish to push the jews into the sea. As far as thriving on American ideals, few nationalities do it better. They are laden in Diamonds and run around in Mercedes - but when they take their kid to the doctor, they pay will Medical, or whatever the govt. sponsored free healthcare for kids in CA is called.

Don't be naive. They only way is to remain vigilant, and to never let down your guard.

Thanks for the ping. The series of articles StillProud2beFree wrote gave great insight as to what takes place in some of the mosques. On the surface particular mosques seem quite benevolent until you catch the discussions during their private meetings.

H3ll, I've spent 5 years with a Jordanian-Honduran girl in my youth. So, I've seen 1st hand the bitter resentment towards the USA by the whole lot of them. I was urged by my X to not even wear my old ARMY shirt at get togethers. This was all way prior to 9/11, BTW. What I've done since then is my homework, and that's what scares people the most. I know. They know that I know, and they have shown themselves to be muslims 1st. As a joke, Jamal was told that I was a muslim to see his reaction towards meeting me for the 1st time. Funny...they had to lie to him so he would like me. Kahlid, an old friend of mine, changed his ENTIRE appearance after he went to mecca for his pilgrimage. He became a devout muslim after that, and so the FBI's interest in him grew, with good reason. His family's store was closed down due to his involvement with persons of interest. I've had 1 conversation with him since Aug of last year, and it wasn't pretty. He claimed how he was an American, and he refuses to shave his beard b/c it's part of being a muslim. What did he do so wrong that the FBI was on him? Why was he moving his things out in the middle of the night? He claims he can't sell his products on the street b/c he doesn't have a permit, oh well. We have laws, as Americans know, in this country that you must follow in order to do business. Just recently, as in last week, in Louisiana, there was a major sting operation by the FBI on a good # of muslim owned stores. What did they find..only time will tell, but before you attempt to claim some "good will citizen prize", check out how the local mosques in your area receive funding and what they are taught by their imans. Go to their mosques, and ask if they have any wahabbi-sponsered imans. Ask to see the pamphlets they give out. Ask if they mind you, if you're an infidel, sitting in on their sermons. Then ask if it's ok to tape them for a class your taking. Go ahead. You want the moral high ground, don't you?

The key is intergration into the community.

If America doesn't wake up and take notice we will be heading down the same path as Europe. We are becoming too apologetic and accommodating to this group and all its going to do is cause fracture within our country. For as their population grows they will start demanding more from the government to follow their ways just like they are doing in other nations where they are imposing the Sharia laws for the rest of the nation.
