"We want to do that again," Edwards said.

Oh, goody. Another $5 trillion of taxpayer money will be spent, with little to show for it.

it had the ring of laying the framework for another campaign

Don't all the great campaigns get their start in Wisconsin?

Reporting facts, a quaint concept from some by-gone era.

Coming from a guy living in a house with a tax value of $2,385,373 reads more like lip service than anything else.

And then there's his beach house........

"We want to do that again," Edwards said.

Do what? Spend $7 trillion and everything remains the same?

Excellent. Using big government and taxes to do what the supporters suggest is just a way for do-gooders and busybodies to feel good about themselves whilst spending somebody else's money.

Just checked, He still owns the Raleigh house. Tax Value on that one is $985,090. The man is really connected to impoverished America.

Speaking of American poverty, a friend of mine just returned from a trip to China to visit his son who is teaching there in a small town of 260,000.

My friend says living conditions in American poverty would be considered wealth in China.

I'm sure a lot of the "little people," aka "the great unwashed masses," work to take care of those four places, don't you?

If John Edwards was so concerned about ending poverty, he'd start a business and hire some poor people to run it. Oh wait, he's spent his whole life *taking* money from businesses. Never mind.

I remember the illegal immigrant from Mexico who was asked why he wanted so badly to be in the US. He replied that he wanted to live where poor people are fat.

Edwards said helping the poor up the economic ladder speaks directly to the moral character of America and the work that former President Lyndon Johnson left behind in his war on poverty of the 1960s.

Johnson left behind an entire generation of poor people enslaved by a system to encouraged laziness, encouraged family breakups, encouraged unwed motherhood, and discouraged fatherhood by replacing fathers with a welfare state. It was Newt Gingrich and the end of welfare as we know it that helped poor people rise from idleness and poverty.

In September, he announced a scholarship program in Greene County (NC) for students living in poverty to cover expenses at a state university for the first year.

In October, Fortress Investment Group LLC announced he will be serving as a senior adviser on global economic issues and

launched a 10 university campus tour for "Opportunity Rocks"-a nationwide program targeted at getting college students involved in the fight against poverty.

Edwards started the tour at UNC-CH (Erskine Bowles is now President

of the UNC System, that is; )
