No, liberals, it's not your imagination. "Meet the Press" and the other Sunday political talk shows really have leaned more to the right in recent years........

Yeah, they have.
They used to be really, really, really, really, really, really, really left-wing, but now they've become only really, really, really, really, really, really left-wing.

Of course they lean more to the right! The problem is that the liberals always assumed they were standing straight up @ 12:00 when they were really laying down on their left side.
Now that they are leaning to 8:00 instead of 7:00 they have obviously "leaned more to the right" than in the past.

Sunday Talk Show Lean to the Right???? If 'lean' means meager, starved, emaciated, etc., then yes, the Sunday Talk Shows are 'lean' to the Right.

All they're doing is counting the dogtags of the guests as they come on.
They don't count the leanings of the host.
They don't count who's shouting and who's being talked over.

Read the article and you find it's all in how you define "liberal". The chart gives it away -- with the text in the title "Conservatives and PROGRESSIVES" on the shows. His point MAY be valid. There are fewer true, out-of-the-closet LIBERALS on the shows. There are more who call themselves 'mainstream' or 'in touch with real Americans' or progressives. Few dare act out what they truly believe AND call themselves Liberal.
Not to worry -- it's all about how Dims won't honestly label themselves.

The combined audience of the Sunday shows is around 10 million households. While that may not be quite as large as that of "American Idol," it includes the entire Washington establishment, which looks to the Sunday shows to clarify who the important players are, which stories matter most, and what arguments can be considered seriously. The Sunday shows confer statusboth on people and on ideaswith greater effect than any other news presentation. They are the place where Washington's power elite goes to make its case, where the boundaries of debate are determined and the talking points presented and probed.
Oh the talking points are presented alright. Tune into one or all, it makes no difference. You will hear the exact same argument made word for word (they all will use the exact same buzzword as per the talking points memo).

So on a political scale from A to Z, with L = Liberal, M= Moderate, O=Objective, and P=Prudent (and W=Wonderful, and Z=Zantabulous!), they used to be somewhere from A=Apparatchik or B=BigBrotherBellyfeeler to C=Communist, but they've moderated all the way to F=Fellow-traveler or G=Goody Twoshoes?

I tune in once in a while just to get a perspective on how the Leftist are thinking. At least, the commentators occasionally ask pertinent questions.

Snicker snort. If Russert is leaning to the right it's because he's too fat to sit up straight.

I record Meet the Press every Sunday, and every Sunday I can only watch three minutes before Timmy pisses me off and I delete it.
Two Sundays ago his first question to the first guest during the height of the Cheney Shotgun Massacre was "Are the Republicans in trouble?" and I clicked it off.

Some people confuse not leaning as far to the left with leaning to the right.
I wonder if they think that the Leaning Tower of Pisa is standing straight up these days.
