Perhaps you are making a frequently-repeated error.

This thread concerns an action which is not about pushing Creationism in public schools. The action is about admitting that Evolution is not universally accepted.

It seems to me that anytime someone says "I'm not sure about Evolution" the response becomes "Stop pushing Creationism on me!"

Because it seems as if every time someone says "I'm not sure about evolution." it turns out that the individual is a "creationist."

Actually, I was following up with another poster on a specific element of his belief, one that he raised. Is that OK with you?

P-Marlowe (hence the ping to him) specifically stated that we are created in the image of God, and I quote now "If you refuse to acknowledge that you were created in the image of God, then evolution is the theory for you. Have fun with it".

Sort of punches a gaping hole in your comment -- It seems to me that anytime someone says "I'm not sure about Evolution" the response becomes "Stop pushing Creationism on me! -- now doesn't it.

Should we talk more about "frequently-repeated error" now or after you get the taste of shoe leather out of your mouth :)

But the bill failed in the House on a 28-46 vote Monday. The bill would have required teachers to tell students that evolution is not a fact and the state doesn't endorse the theory.

Rep. Scott Wyatt, a Republican, said he feared passing the bill would force the state to then address hundreds of other scientific theories - "from Quantum physics to Freud" - in the same manner.

I don't have a problem with the state not endorsing evolution. They shouldn't be in the business of promoting one scientific theory over another. It's not their business to determine what science is and people who use the government to enforce their particular viewpoints are pushing an adenda.

Since the ToE is a theory and evidence only supports is, according to scientists, there is no way to legitmately state that it is a fact. The best way to put it would be, "Current scientific evidence indicates that man may descended from apes (or a common ancestor, depending which evo you're talking to). A disclaimer that evolution is not a fact is no different that a disclaimer that any other scientific theory is not a fact.
