This is actually where I disagree. I work for a maritime shipping company. The amount of documentation required by DHS 96 hours before landing is tremendous. We also have pieces of Boeing in China. Profiles, unknown to the port operators are compiled on suspect shippers and are checked on the basis of that. So while it's arguable, as Sen. Graham is pointing out that there is a security exposure here, the security exposure is at the risk of the operator. THe security exposure there is to the facilities (as opposed to bringing in a suitcase nuke or chemical weapons). DPW or any operator has a $6 billion interest in maintaining the security of the facilities because that's what they're buying.

How about China be mature enough to recognize Tawains right to exist and mature enough not to point 41 thousand missles at it and threaten an invasion of it at a drop of a hat. Whats more dangerous the UAE invading ISrael for goodness sake or China invading Tawain
The UAE doesn't need a facility here in the U.S. (are you aware they aready have one in a large city....I thought not) to SEND us a bomb...they could send it to ANY facility that receives containers.

I know its insanity. Only 10 percent of UAE revenues come from oil and rest from International commerce whether banking shipping etc. To think that the UAE would jeopdize their country is incredible. In fact thats prob why we have all our assets there in the first place. Notice at the end Gramn gave himself a out a little

Chuckie Schumer said on the Senate floor today...that he wants it to be mandatory that EVERY container is inspected..NOT just run through for radiation..
Plus, he wants the containers to be made more "tamper proof"...and inspected for chemical and biological weapons..
IOW...this is gonna COST big $$$$$$$$$$ and take a lot of time at the docks.
Other than Sen. Warner, I haven't heard even ONE Republican Senator say any different than what the dems are saying.
Well Good Gracious, that might mean that he'd have to get off the air waves and actually do some research. Please! Bottom line a lot of these guys shot their mouths off and they are looking for a way out.
