Just heard it on Fox News Live...
Congratulations! I only had to pay Mr Nkomo $20,000 up front in cash. What a return I'm getting!
LONDON: British police investigating the £50 million pounds ($NZ134.26 million) armed raid at a security depot in southern England will question two people in connection with the case.
Detectives arrested a man aged 29 and a 31-year-old woman in London yesterday after an armed gang posing as police carried out what may be Britain's biggest-ever cash robbery.
They are being held at police stations in Kent on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery.
"These arrests are a positive development in the early stages of our investigation and show our commitment to bringing the members of this organised criminal gang to justice," Assistant Chief Constable Adrian Leppard said in a statement.
Six raiders snatched the manager of a security depot on Tuesday evening, took his wife and young son hostage and threatened to kill them unless they were helped inside the compound, police said.
Airports and ports were put on alert in case the gang attempted to flee the country and a 2 million pound reward was offered.
The Bank of England, Britain's central bank, confirmed that Stg25 million pounds of its money had been stolen. Leppard told a news conference the final figure could hit £50 million pounds.
If confirmed, it would eclipse the previous record theft of cash and valuables worth up to £40 million pounds from a safe deposit box centre in Knightsbridge, central London in 1987.
Leppard said they were keeping an open mind about the robbery and would not rule out an inside job, with someone working inside the depot to help the gang.
"This is organised crime at its top level," he said. "This was planned and executed with military precision."
No one was injured in the raid on the depot in Tonbridge, Kent, 30km southeast of London.
The depot is run by Sweden's Securitas AB, the world's biggest security firm.
Police said raiders in an unmarked car with police-style blue lights on its front grille, pulled over the depot manager as he drove home from work on Tuesday.
He was taken to a farm building where a gun was placed to his head. He was told to co-operate or his family would be killed.
At the same time, his wife and son were abducted from their home by raiders dressed as police.
Early on Wednesday, the gang spent more than an hour loading a large white lorry with cash - a mixture of new and old bank notes - before escaping.
My goodness. That's a lot of cash.
AM, could you please fix the topic title and add the link?
Now THAT is funny!
"Ahhh. My contact in Nigeria has finally withdrawn our money. Now I should get my 10% any day now...
"
You're only getting 10%. I bargained with my Nigerian contact and got 17%. I'm expecting the wire transfer any day now.
He's real good at stealing other people's money... and getting away with it.
When you get your money, I have a nice bridge in Brooklyn for sale that you might be interested in.
nah--I have my eye on some nice property about 50 miles east of Miami I want to retire to.
Don't look at me that way. I didn't do it!
