There wasn't a shooting in a synagogue, it was a church. Some people would argue that 1+1=2. Are you one of those? I'd rathered be killed in a church where I'm praising his name than in one that worships the devil.

I'm not sure I understand your comment. Are you saying that synagogues are places of devil worship?

In Louisiana, state law prohibits CPL to carry in any religious institution. Here it is not descretionary. Which it should be.

No.The subject was changed from a church to a synagogue, I pointed out it was not about a synagogue shooting, but a church.

In all my time here never have I once posted anything anti Semitic. Whoever hit the abuse button is trying to read something negative into my comment.

There are three different subjects in those four sentences.

Here's an update, posted by the AP at 3:29PM ET:

By MICHAEL J. FEENEY
The Associated Press

DETROIT (AP) — A man opened fire during a church service Sunday, killing an 18-year-old woman and wounding her child before shooting another man outside, according to police and broadcast reports.

Second Deputy Police Chief James Tate confirmed that three people were shot, one fatally, at Zion Hope Missionary Baptist Church about 11 a.m.

"Church had begun, and shots rang out," Tate said. After summoning help, church members continued the service, he said.

"They didn't let this incident stop the reason why they came to church," he said. "They came to worship."

The child did not have life-threatening injuries, but the third victim was in critical condition, WWJ-AM reported. That man was shot when he tried to protect his wife from a carjacking attempt by the gunman, the station said.

Church members helped police identify a suspect, Tate said. He said officers were looking for Kevin Lorenzo Collins, 24, who is considered armed and dangerous.

The shooting was the result of a domestic dispute, Tate said, but he did not elaborate.

My hubby took the girls to the Blessing of the Polish Dance Troops at St. Hyacinth's today.

I'm glad I didn't read this when I got home from selling bagels at my parish in the burbs.

I think another poster suggested it might be those disgruntled Congregationalists.

I have a voice student who plays organ at one of the Masses at St. Hyacinth. He is from Poland, I think he's been in the US for about 5 years. What is the Blessing of the Polish Dance Troops?

All the troops in the area go down for a blessing...

I would have been frantic. Of course my hubby would hve turned off his phone for mass. Thank God I didn't hear about this until they were home!

Churches are off limits to concealted carry.

There are other criminal enterprise zones as well.

"I don't know anything about MI law. Are churches "gun free zones" under State law?"

Churches are off limits to concealed carry and thus a criminal enterprise zone.

Open carry is legal in the state but don't know if Churches have special government status.

Blogger is absolutely Biblically accurate, pbrown.

All who call themselves Christians.........even those who are inside a church.........are not believers in Jesus Christ.

I think you have taken offense because you have misunderstood something that was said. Surely you understand that going into a building doesn't change what's in your heart.
