INTERVIEW WITH AYAAN HIRSI ALI - Everyone Is Afraid to Criticize Islam
Der Spiegel ^ | February 6, 2006 | Interview

Posted on 02/25/2006 3:27:02 AM PST by Atlantic Bridge

Ayaan Hirsi Ali, the Dutch politician forced to go into hiding after the murder of filmmaker Theo van Gogh, responds to the Danish cartoon scandal, arguing that if Europe doesn't stand up to extremists, a culture of self-censorship of criticism of Islam that pervades in Holland will spread in Europe. Auf Wiedersehen, free speech.

I hope we see a lot more of her. When I compare someone like this to lame-o's like Kennedy and HRC, who pander while this woman speaks about reality, I'm even more embarassed that the dems have as much credibility among Americans as they do.

Tolerating Islamist intolerance

EXCERPTS:

Crucially, it is precisely this tolerance of intolerance that has allowed vocal and violent radicalised Islamist minorities to silence Muslim majorities and to transform the global image of Islam into the grotesque parody of the faith that the Danish cartoons sought - perhaps indelicately - to reflect.

Europe would be, not only foolish, but suicidal, if it succumbs to this terrorism and coercion to invent new curbs on the media and on the freedom of speech.

"..Hirsi Ali: The doctrine stating that the faith is inalterable because the Koran was dictated by God must be replaced. Muslims must realize that it was human beings who wrote the holy scriptures. After all, most Christians don't believe in hell, in the angels or in the earth having been created in six days. They now see these things as symbolic stories, but they still remain true to their faith.."

That position may get her killed. Some Christians hold to the inerrancy of scripture, but they don't as a rule kill those who maintain otherwise.

I am waiting for the National Endowment for the Arts to fund a "Piss Koran" or other such outrage. They won't, and for obvious reasons.

This is indeed the most important sentence she said. We Christians are mature enough to interpret our scriptures to meet truth and reality without falling into religious relativism and arbitrariness. The muslims fail to do that.

"...The muslims fail to do that."

And in most places they act out violently if their sensibilites are crossed. They do this with the encouragement of both religious leaders and governments for the most cynical reasons.

You can bet religious contibutions go up significantly during these periods of strife and the governments are happy to have the people think about, "the infidels" rather than their own conditions. The people are being played like a fiddle and never seem to catch on.

I doubt if either most religious or civic Muslim leaders have as much religious belief as the keyboard I'm typing on. Their religion is a theatrical part played for wealth and power.

Many Iranian Ayatollahs and their families have grown very rich in their service to Islam as an example. I will believe in the sincerity of these people when I see middle aged male suicide bombers. Of course we won't, that is what the kids are for. Windem up and watch them go boom. Plenty more where they came from after all.

There is no freedom of speech in those Arab countries where the demonstrations and public outrage are being staged. The reason many people flee to Europe from these places is precisely because they have criticized religion, the political establishment and society. Totalitarian Islamic regimes are in a deep crisis. Globalization means that they're exposed to considerable change, and they also fear the reformist forces developing among émigrés in the West. They'll use threatening gestures against the West, and the success they achieve with their threats, to intimidate these people.

That is just one of the many truisms in this excellent article. Islam is not a religion it is more of a cult, a malignant ideology that commits cultural genocide upon any group of people over which it gains power especially women. A society that still stones people to death; teaches hate to children; refuses to recognize any religion but theirs by condemning Christians and Jews etc., is nothing more than religious zealots blinded by the brainless stupidity of man made dictum led by tyrants who call themselves Imams.

islam needs a Martin Luther. It needs a reformer who is not afraid to be radical if that is what is needed to right the wrongs of his faith. Someone inside islam must seize the initiative and make it plain to the deluded followers of what has become a gutter psychopathology that the death of their children as martyrs in a pointless struggle against others is not the highest intent of the Almighty.

Yes, she does. We need to stop pulling our punches with the left. They lack the intestinal fortitude to defend Western Civilization, and they need to hear it.

She is the definition of courage. "Hero" is one of the most overused and misused word of which I can think, but in her case it truly applies.

"The Anti Christ?"

I don't think a putative reformer of islam who fcould find a way to convince 1.1 billion deluded souls to try peace could be termed that way.

These Islamics want to impose Islamic values on nations they are only 3-5% of. I've never seen such arrogance. They get to Europe and within 10 years are telling Danes and others how to run their nations and what constitutes permissible free speech

MoHam.gif
The funniest part is these mad dog Muslims being outraged that Muhammad is drawn here as a terrorist when in reality he was the first Muslim terrorist and lead a loathsome life of mass murder, pedophilia and thievery.
