STEVEN EMERSON: Well, they are an ally of sorts. It depends who the "they" is. There are some members of the kingdom there- it's a federation- that are really close allies of the United States. Others aren't. So it's hard to say. I would not put them in the same category of an ally as a European nation would be. But they certainly have exhibited some pro-U.S. policies since 9/11. Though, I must point out that two of the 9/11 hijackers came from UAE and also there were even Hamas couriers as late as last year that were sent to the West Bank or Gaza that came in with UAE cash. So there is still a problem of terrorist supporting operations.
then find another thread...perhaps you can join beyond-the-sea's slam Hannity thread...
Susan is looking pretty good ........ as long as she takes the lampshade off her head at the parties.
;-)
Tell me what you think of my musings at #255, only if you feel so inclined.
I'm fine. Excellent post btw.
I saw earlier that you posted that you and your husband are still on the fence on the port issue...
My husband has been working 12 hour days...7 days a week for a couple months...so he hasn't had time to even pay attention to the news...
He works with all LIBS...so he is always asking me to supply him with the conservative talking points to fight them with...
This morning he comes home from work and asks "Have you heard anything about an Arab country buying our ports?""
I just laughed and said, "Oh, yeah, just a little bit!"...
He asked for "talking points"...and I said to forget it...the people he work with would NOT have done homework...and so my "fence-sitting" opinion would not have computed.
Re: To say nothing of the universities and churches in this country who do not believe Israel has a right to exist.
Which churches and universities did you have in mind?
Didn't Sean's Station get bought out recently so he has a new Boss to answer to? I wonder if he knows who it is. Gee wouldn't it be a kicker if the Mayor of Dubai bought WABC and was Sean's new Boss? LOL!
What are you talking about bts?
I have to be honest, when Rush started "THE OPRAH" talk, I changed channels...
first of all, I am NOT an Oprah fan, and second of all, the subject matter is just not my cup o' tea.
I am no fan of Oprah and I don't want to hear from her, whatever the source. She is coming up on John Gibson's program. Run away, run away.
Did you read the Hanson piece on NRO yet? I heard Rush refer to it.
It was beyond the sea. LOL
Had to blame it on someone... save liberty's not here.
You're on my list.
LOL! Oh, your poor husband! My condolences on both accounts! Ya know, this "on the fence" thing is really bugging me! I can't make up my mind (as my husband says, "she has an opinion on everything"!)
I'm just going to have to trust Pres. Bush on this. Why would he let us down now, after all this country has been through, with the WOT?
I would like to see his reaction if that would happened. LoL! :-)
Or the easy combo.
It would seem reasonable to assume that the "new" company will want to place their own employees into what they consider to be critical areas of their business. I would assume that these employees would be from the UAE, since the company is based there and is a subsidiary of a company wholly owned by the government of the UAE.
It further stands to reason that the company will receive directives and instructions from the Coast Guard and Customs regarding security.
It would further be reasonable to assume that it would be a whole lot easier for a member of Al Qaeda to infiltrate this company than a British company. It is also reasonable to assume that as a member of this comapny it would be MUCH easier for the Al Qaeda-type, to observe and report than some schnook standing on a bridge.
So my concerns are totally centered around security. My concerns are not kool-aid related, not are they as a result of the Schumer interview, as one wild-eyed twit suggested.
What is really dispiriting, are the attacks because I don't happen to agree that the port deal is a good idea. One would think that I penned a cartoon about Mohammed or something.
Long post...sorry kiddo.

I agree. I was just talking to someone and I said the same thing. President Bush wouldn't put us in a dangerous situation.
