Read the rest of the thread before you engage.
I wish I could post the aerial photograph of New York Harbor on a Fourth of July that was in a National Geographic magazine. Thousands of ships and boats of every size. People have no idea of the magnitude of our waters. A Fast Attack Container Ship is just another speck on the seascape - although one that is being tracked moment by moment.
What is the hardest of all for me to grasp is why people think that a company would spend $7billion to sabotage an enemy, when they could just do whatever smuggling people fear, without owning the company.
I guess we can't be trusted either. Now who will manage these commercial concerns? Amtrak-AmPorts?
Can you post a link to that? We can;t post that much information from the NYT. I have to inform the admin moderator to delete your post.
You might want to cut down on the KOOLAID a bit. It is causing electrical interference tin foil receptors.
I would probably agree with you. I was just trying to point out that the coarse language distracts people from the validity of your argument. I don't particularly enjoy vulgar language, either. Thanks for listening!
I agree.
We're trying to figure out what's going down here and are labeled "ignorant" etc. For example, for the life of me I don't understand--if the state of New York is the lessor, why are the feds `horning in' re the matter of a new lessee assuming P&O's obligations?
Anyhoo, the proponents of this issue (as I see it now, whether or not we should entrust operation of our ports to wild-eyed Wahabi religious fanatics: see? two can play that game) have turned me off.
Their invective reminds me of Miers' supporters calling those who thought we could do better "sexists" etc. They remind me of DU, and who needs that s***.
I guess I must have missed your interest in the last exchange of commercial port operations? Or your concern over the UAE firm that already handles such operations. Or your concern about the Saudi firm that handles them in another port.
The very same operations that Chuck Schumer knows about just like he had to know that DP World was a bidder on this contract months ago...but wasn't concerned about till now.
Not unless you have a lexis nexis account.
What's my limit? 3 paragraphs?
Let me google some.
Dunno. See your FR mail from me...lol.
WOW, WOW, WOW, you struck GOLD!
WELL DONE!
Don't mind my salty sea-language. It helps me maintain my "Michael Savage" persona. ;-)

Do they have any facts to back up their arguments? Or are they, like 99% of the people who oppose the deal, dealing from pure emotion?
Think so??? George B us just another George Washington, eh???
Facts are perception. I am telling you what I have heard from who I have talked to about it, around ten to twelve peopel. About 2/3 are against it and most even those supporting it and GW think it has been handled badly.
As for myself, I have misgivings and the more I read about it on both side the deeper they get.
George Washington had it easy compared to this President.
Its a story that ran yesterday in plenty of places. The guy is disagreeing with the cloud 9 assessments. Post his credentials? Why? Look him up yourself. Joseph King. Ret. US Customs and Homeland Security.
And I'm not "dismissing" facts. I disagree with the cost-benefit analysis, more than anything else.
George Washington had the best interests of this country at heart and was competent. I have my doubts about both of those on GWB.
It sounds more like a personal problem you have to me....
