Bush would accept slight delay in ports deal-Rove Thu Feb 23, 2006 4:19 PM ET

WASHINGTON, Feb 23 (Reuters) - President George W. Bush would accept a slight delay in permitting Dubai Ports World to acquire a British company that operates six key U.S. ports, senior White House adviser Karl Rove told Fox News.

When asked if Bush would accept a slight delay in implementing the takeover of P&O , Rove said: "Yes, look, there are some hurdles, regulatory hurdles, that this still needs to go through on the British side as well that are going to be concluded next week.

you will never change public opinion on this,

If only 54% of Free Republic opposes it, what does that tell you?

Public opinion blows in the wind. The Democrats already know they have been branded as racists for opposing brown people operating ports.

Other brown people are not going to like that!

Frist and Hastert sat back, waiting to see what the administration would do. and the administration has made the first move - backing off.

next, we'll see what is behind door #2.

The lesser of two evils has, indeed, become the greater of the two evils.

I bet you went through a lot of glue when you were younger.

what do you think this delay is for?

Hearings, bloviating, Congressional stamp of approval on (read: taking credit for) a security review that's already been conducted.

Michael Savage lives up to his ranking as #60 on the list of 100 People Screwing up America(and Al Franken is #37).

Laura Ingraham, former SCOTUS clerk, is a "glorified DJ"?

She's not very smart. Anybody who listens to her show knows that. She's an ideologue.

She's already starting to ease back, however. If you listened to the end of her show, James Glassman, noted writer and economist, kicked her butt and answered every one of her objections beautifully.

I'm telling you, ov. This deal is done. The tide is shifting. Just listen to the Sunday shows. I'll be surprised if any Democrat who appears does anything but say "Well, we need to know more."

Those who still insist the deal be quashed have lost.

Why address the issues (and get your arse handed to you again and again?) when you can simply blame it all on the "cheerleading, RINO, trollish Bushbots?"

No, terrorists are the enemy.

So, what do you think of CAIR?

You need to buy a clue. Islam isn't even a religion. It's a death cult.

Nope. This deal is done. The opposition to it is crumbling.

Yep, but as always there are diehards hanging on - reminiscent of the Japanese soldiers stranded in island jungles years after the war.

Then again, I'm just a RINO Bushbot, not worried about "real" conservative principles. ROTFL!!!!

Recently I have been in the process of changing my mind about Dobbs because he is so relentless about the border. but tonight I witnessed him almost salivate, chris matthews style, about the prospect of civil war in Iraq. A patriot would not go there IMHO. I saw a nasty side of him tonight.

Dobbs is an opportunistic demagogue. He's gotten the lunch-bucket crowd by appealing to their worst instincts and prejudices (as Pat Buchanan does).

Thinking people recognize Dobbs for who he is: an orange-haired populist.

listen to talk radio - 90% of the callers are against it,

What a coincidence. 90% of the callers don't know anything about CFIUS or the public announcement last November.

The fact that you've heard nothing but silence from Frist and Hastert (and John McCain and John Warner backed the deal today) since yesterday ought to tell you something.

Don't forget Tommy Franks!

Oh wait, he doesn't know anything about terrorism or national security...

Yep, but as always there are diehards hanging on - reminiscent of the Japanese soldiers stranded in island jungles years after the war.

Even Hannity is backing off tonight. I just heard him say "Well, I just think this thing needs to be looked at." Monday, he was insisting it be killed.

Look for more of that from those with integrity. Psychos like Savage will just continue to marginalize themselves.

He came onto Levin's show right afterwards calling those who aren't hysterical about it koolaide drinkers. He used the term quite a few times.

I have the feeling Sean is having a hard time admitting that he got sucked into this.
