Would you like to learn a little more about yourself and your fellow posters on Free Republic? If so, you might enjoy this Freeper Research Project.
It began on another thread where people were testing themselves for nerdiness. Great fun was had by all.
Along the way, Freeper patton posted a link to the Jung personality test. What an adventure! I took the test for the first time and found out I am an INFJ (I=44, N=75, F=25, J=25).
Because we were sharing the results of our tests on that thread, I was pleasantly surprised to discover three other Freepers with the same personality type. And, naturally, being curious some of us went to yet another link to find out what the code means and what famous people are INFJs:
The strange part is that INFJs are the smallest in the general population, but among those posting on the thread, INFJs were in the majority. Does that mean that INFJs are drawn to Free Republic or to those kinds of tests, or are more willing to discuss such things?
At any rate, it is a delightful musing about this forum, the posters we are drawn to (or against): does the Jung personality test have anything useful to say to us?
If you are interested or perhaps would just like to have some fun, take the test and check out the results. And if youre willing, post your results here on this thread so that we can all compare notes.
The results so far:
INFJ: Indy Pendance, Knitting a Conundrum, Grey-whiskers, Alamo-Girl INTJ: John O (67,62,25,67), hosepipe (11,50,19,56), Cyclopean Squid (44,100,62,56) INTP: marron ENFJ: .30Carbine (1,50,75,22) , phantomworker (39,57,40,12)
I'm surprised to see all the INTJs here myself. I'm not strongly in that category in a lot of ways (22-44-50-1), and have come out ENTJ and INTP before (though INTJ is the usual), but if this is a 1% of the population category, it is fascinating that we have so many of them.
As someone else noted, it would be interesting to see what DUmbasses scored here.
I am remembering a Simpson's episode with the teachers strike and Lisa home schooling herself and needing to be validated on her work. This reminds me of that episode. :)

ESFP - THE PERFORMER
"Almost every ESFP loves to talk. Some can be identified by the twenty minute conversation required to ask or answer a simple factual question."
Here's another fun one, just to bump the thread:
Took test through work at age 23 and was ENTP....apparently I have mellowed...LOL! ;)
How did I know? LOL. (I'm glad to know I'm in such good company.)
But what exactly does being an INTP mean? The theoretical possibilities here are endless. Have you ever noticed any patterns? Maybe if we ponder on that awhile, we'll eventually come up with an answer. No rush, though. I know you hate deadlines as much as I do. Reflect on it a while and get back with me. No rush, though, or you may miss some details. And by the way, while you're doing your theoretical analysis, this site may help. It seems to be more accurate in its description. Oh, and we're listed on their careers page. :-)
Has anyone made a list of the INTPs yet? It would be nice to know to whom I can safely make aloof comments without being misunderstood.
By the way, wouldn't your comment read better if there were a comma after "Apparently?" Maybe not. Your "fine discrimination ability" has always been more refined than mine. While you're contemplating your own grammar, please analyze my "to whom" statement above and give me some feedback. Whenever. :-)
Alamo-girl, thanks for the thread!
"ESFP - THE PERFORMER, Almost every ESFP loves to talk. Some can be identified by the twenty minute conversation required to ask or answer a simple factual question."
LOL. Very likely 90% of the DU board.
Your "to whom" is perfectly accurate. Good job.
You may or may not believe this, but I originally had a comma after "apparently" in my comment, but I recalled a comment from YOU, specifically taking me to task over excessive commas in my posts.
I removed it, thinking of you. And whaddya know, it still bites me in the butt. LOL.
Now, going to check out your links...
There's got to be more than two ISTPs here!
C'mon people!
Another INTJ checking in ....
Good links!
When did you become a forest ranger?
FYI, on the lib end of things:

One of the DUmmies has already done an analysis of some dailyKos and DU idgets on the topic, though it's fairly wordy and short on utility:
http://info-theory.blogspot.com/2004_11_01_info-theory_archive.html
It does arrive at this hilarious conclusion far, far down the page:
"Specifically, liberals are more feeling while conservatives are more thinking."
Like a study was necessary for THAT f'in conclusion.
" Maybe a group of us ENTJ's should get together and start our plans....................."
Bah! You would be mere front men, while we INTJs would be the oligarchic masterminds ruling from the smoky backrooms.
8)
If you want to discuss an alliance, however...first rule, you do not talk about NTJ club...second rule, you do not talk about NTJ club.
However, it could mean you are a really great parent, or caregiver, as well as a loyal friend. :-)
Ping to 414.
INTP...67 25 56 44
