RUSH: Jerry in Long Beach, I'm glad you waited, sir, welcome to the program.
CALLER: Uh, Rush, I'm a proud member of the longshoremen's union.
RUSH: Yes, sir.
CALLER: I don't appreciate you attacking our union, try to make this part of this debate. Are you telling us that Republicans don't care about our jobs? Are you telling us that Republicans want to break our union?
RUSH: No.
CALLER: Is that what this deal was about?
RUSH: No! No.
CALLER: Or is this about -- Or is this about President --
RUSH: There you go again! There you go stereotyping! There you go stereotyping.
CALLER: Is he afraid he's not going to get his commission?
RUSH: I'm telling you that from everything I know, nothing's going to change. I have said this for the past two days.
CALLER: So why are you attacking my union?
RUSH: I'm not "attacking your union"! I'm simply pointing out who your union donates to and explaining why Schumer and Hillary and these other Democrats are speaking out in opposition to the deal. While they're telling us it's about national security, it's not, they're telling it because they're trying to loyal to you. You're the ones that --
CALLER: What you're not saying is that this is a violation of the Trading with Enemies Act. You couple this with the violation of the Espionage Act, a violation of the Foreign Intelligence --
RUSH: It's none of that.
CALLER: -- Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act, you've got this president committing three felonies, sir!
RUSH: It's none of that!
CALLER: He's a criminal.
RUSH: (laughing)
CALLER: And what you're doing is criminal -- and don't you attack my union!
RUSH: I didn't attack your union, but I'm about to start --
CALLER: Well, let's get it on, buddy.

The part about 'business owners sharing the wealth'....that creeps me out.
>>>>My concern for Rush is not physical harm, rather the problems unions could cause from his business side. They control most jobs in broadcasting including all "POP's" along the huge signal chain necessary to do a broadcast as Rush does.

Longshoremen are almost as gay as the Iron Worker's Union.
Let me answer you more thoroughly. First of all you don't have to have a union to have purchase power for medical benefits.
And the converse could be made to your argument that non-union workers have kept the market so low. Union workers keep wages high in most areas. Too high, in my opinion.
And those Wal-Mart or In-n-Out employees? Why don't they get an edumacation and get a real job?
"I wonder when we are going to see it on this one..."
And that is, (to quote a Great American), "The crux of the biscuit"
I predict that we will see rational debate on this at the same time we see rational debate on the Muham-mud cartoons, and when I see angels fly out of....well, nevermind...
Now I don't believe you own this forum either, hmmmm. Works both ways.
Afterall, longshorepeople have been insulted.
Give me a break. Creeps you out?
I am a business owner. Are you? If you made a company $500,000 and that company pays you sixty thousand dollars a year. Are you worth more?
"I heard it was more like $120K, with unbelievable benefits for life for the entire family."
Not to mention all the 5-finger discounts on things that "fall off" the loading dock. If someone shipped a nuke into NY harbor, a union thug would probably steal it and mount it in his rec room.
And I have zero plans to 'share the wealth' with society in general.
I share it enough each year by giving it to Uncle Sam to give out as he sees fit.
Oh, and I do give to conservative causes too.
I can't imagine any business owner who actually pays taxes, thinks he/she needs to 'share the wealth' any more than that!
And they make $50k a year for doing what? Sitting in a ticket booth, or opening train doors. I heard they also get health care with no co-payment AND do you know what they turned down? Health care for life with co-pay after retirement. They wanted FREE health care for life after retirement with no co-payment!
People only bow to other people when they have a dependent/entitlement mentality. Likewise, people only demand personal obeisance from others when they think they are entitled.
I don' need anyone to bow to me to prove my self-worth.
Not a union meathead? Just a regular one? Look, it's that attitude that makes unions neccessary.
I see - the dismissive attitude that the nonlazy have toward the lazy makes it necessary for lazy people to band together in extortion syndicates. interesting theory.
All 125,000 GM workers are useless human beings.
I never made that claim.
You don't care in the least that they're Americans.
I didn't know that Americans owe other Americans a living. If someone is going to claim to me that they have a right to engage in extortion because they are an American and that I as an American am required to acquiesce in their scam, then I have to laugh. That truly is the refuge of a scoundrel.
But you're a real patriot, right?
Let's see, I love this country and its constitutional republic and I believe in life liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Yes, I'd say so.
There are probably union workers who coach your kid in baseball, or some other task you're way to important to do.
I coach my daughter's soccer team. Oddly, I'm able to do that without a union card.
I'm not certain what tasks I'm too important to do. If there are any, I hope someone tells my wife about them, so I can get out of doing them.
Most modern unions are bad, but not all unions are bad.
While I agree that one union may be more reasonable and less violent than others, unions are still wrong in principle.
Yes, unions were needed nearly a century ago. Nowadays there are plenty of laws on the books to protect employees without the need for socialistic union thugs. Collective bargaining is nothing more than protecting the inept and lazy.
I have never needed a union, and will never join one. I have found that the best way to stay employed and well paid is to make yourself as valuable as possible to your employer. Because of this attitude, I have never drawn unemployment compensation.
Actually I think he is spot-on. I've dealt with far too many unions for far too many years, most are just plain criminal in their actions.
I despise unions and make an effort to give my business to non-union shops wherever and whenever possible. I've seen their violence on the streets of Philadelphia and New York and watched as once-proud cities can't get anything done without the special blend of blackmail, thuggery, and violence these ORGANIZED CRIMINALS bring.
Just remember what they did to innocent families in the Philadelphia airport two Christmases ago. I still pray each day for USAir to go out of business to punish those apes.
I don't agree with Hildy on this, but that was completely uncalled for.
I live in Chicago. 'Nuff said!
