LINCOLN, Nebraska (AP) -- The winner -- or winners -- of the biggest jackpot on record for any lottery in the United States won't be a secret much longer.
Nebraska Lottery officials planned to reveal who won the $365 million Powerball jackpot at a news conference Wednesday.
The winning numbers drawn Saturday were 15, 17, 43, 44 and 48, with a Powerball number of 29, according to the Multi-State Lottery Association of Des Moines, Iowa, which runs the game for the participating states.
The only ticket matching the winning numbers was sold at a a U-Stop convenience store in Lincoln, lottery officials said. (Watch what identity clues are on store surveillance cameras -- 1:58)

Oddly enough, they have to hold a press conference, announce the winner publicly, to avoid any suspicion that the thing was rigged..an "insider" won it..
It's ture..the seller gets one percent of the jackpot..put the state legislature capped the award at $50k some years back..
Does anyone know if there is a way to collect your winnings anonymously?
I mean, just hypothetically, of course...
Too bad. I seriously hope the winner(s) hire some ex-Secret Service or FBI types to keep the beggars from the doorstep.
Not that I'm an expert, but if I had a word of advice for these folks it is this; charity begins (and ends) at your own pocketbook, an no unselfish deed goes unpunished. Let them take your picture (if you must) and then high-tail it out of town, checking your 'six' all the way.
I don't play, but who else would seriously consider making a deal with someone willing to forever keep the secret and claim they won it in order to remain anonymous? Heck, with that kind of money, I'd offer up to half just to make it worth it to them. They would receive the payments and then pay half to me. It would be worth that much to me to not have to deal with the publicity. I wouldn't be surprised if someone else had already done this. Sure, it would be easy for them to take more than their share since nobody else could know, but I still think it would be worth the risk.
Think about it..some lottery official steps up tot he mike and sasy that they have paid $300 mill out, but they can't tell you who won it..imagine the tin-foil hats..
Happens all the time in New York. Someone hits a lottery and there's the obligatory photo-op and then they fade into obscurity.
With the except of Lou Eisenberg (who won twice) and Curtis Sharp (a textbook example of stupidity), I can't recall a lottery winner with any publicity.
Then again, I can't remember a NY Lotto winner who took home $300 mil...
CAN I REMAIN ANONYMOUS WHEN I HIT THE JACKPOT?
All but three states (DE, KS, ND) have laws that require the lottery to release the name and city of residence to anyone who asks. One state (SC) will keep your name secret if you request it, but if someone files a Freedom of Information Act request, you may have to file a plea with the judge to deny it. Photos and press conferences are always up to you. Most of the time, it is advisable to get it over with the press so that you don't have one or more reporters following you around to get that "exclusive" interview. A few more lotteries may work with you on setting up a trust or other partnership. You should contact the lottery for the details after you win.
They hold the presser.the public announcement and introduction every time..but the media ignores it unless it's a really big prize..over $100 mill..or a lawyer shows up to contest the payout..
Should we start saying it was Graybeard58??
Local media will always run it if it has "lottery" and "millions" in it.
That's enough to get the remoras swimming in...
I would have a sign posted on the entrance to my property.
"IF YOU ARE FOUND HERE AT NIGHT"
"YOU WILL BE FOUND HERE IN THE MORNING"
