I really have concerns as to why this has become such a huge deal. Is it really such a slow-news week that who manages the ports is the biggest story? We have gotten the idea that Arab businessmen are the same as Arab terrorists, and that is just not so. They are not going to risk their business lives by becoming terrorists. Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't think so. And they aren't going to be HIRING terrorists, but Americans.

For me it is a big deal when the Republican Chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee expresses concern, not in the results but in how the decision was reached.
I am not comforted by Michael Chertoff's assurances, because he gave us the same assurances about FEMA during hurricane Katrina. I am not comforted by assurances from Sect. Snow [not our own] who unlike his predecessor NEVER disagrees with Pres. Bush. I am not comforted by Pres. Bush threatening the veto before the discussion reached that level. [Why didn't he threaten the veto to stave off the extravagant spending in Congress.]
