Yes. If we're going to allow foreign firms to direct commercial operations of our ports, we can't say the Brits are okay (even though they have one of the most radical mosques is the world in the heart of London) and the French are okay (even though they've tolerated terrorists in their midst) but no one from the middle east is acceptable because they're all terrorists.
If the state-owned arab company or any foreign company from any country will not allow for the prosecution and/or extradition of anyone abusing the business relationship and entity for purposes of prosecution/terrorism or other criminal acts, no way, Jose. This may be a case where we do need more information as to the exactitude of said agreements/arrangements.
We are at war, after all. jmo.
Easiest to answer poll I've taken in a long time. It's time for the legislative branch to put a stop to the Faustian bargain the executive branch has evidently signed onto.
Just putting the foxes in charge of the hen house.
What say you, Jim????
What part of 'One Nation, Under God' is confusing to people?!?
U.S. Sovereignty means WE RULE AMERICA.
Anything else means somebody else is ruling US.
Lordy. I was just heading off to bed. Godspeed, all.
So many have failed to see the value of this sale with the United Arab Emirates. Since this country will have huge sums of money invested in these port facilities, they will have a huge stakes in their security. The port systems have been made more secure through the investment of the United Arab Emirates' money. They will make every effort to make sure their investment is secure. When they benefit, we will benefit.
The United Arab Emirates would be the last to let someone sabotage a port facility if it meant the loss of billions of dollars. Why do the conservatives have a hard time understanding this simple point?
The noise is being made by politicians in thrall to aforementioned unions/business interests who have contributed heavily to their campaigns, and by showboating politicians who are looking to distance themselves from Bush prepatory to upcoming campaigns.
Together they are demagoging the issue and whipping up paranoia among the electorate.
Amish, absolutely no! /Coulter
