Marriott refuses counter-terror group

Marriott refuses counter-terror group, but hosts Muslims Students Association Eastern Zone Conference

The Marriott Hotel chain refused to host the upcoming counter terror symposium that is being organized by Jeffrey Epstein and the America’s Truth Forum. According to Epstein, Peter Cantone, General Manager for Marriott Georgetown, turned down the group in November, saying:

Your event is too controversial to be held on the property. This decision is based upon business considerations, as the event would call for heightened security since protestors might be attracted from both the student body and off campus. I'm concerned that these protestors might block the main hotel entrance, leading to confrontations with hotel guests and/or room cancellations. Our decision was made due to the objectionable content on your group's website.

But apparently Marriott’s concerns are only with groups that present a negative view on terrorism.

In fact, just a few miles away, the Marriott UMUC Inn near College Park, MD, will be hosting the Muslim Students Association East Zone Conference. (See http://www.msa-national.org/zones/ezusa/conferences.html and www.marriott.com/wasum.)

Epstein has invited such speakers as Dr. Daniel Pipes, Robert Specer, Harvey Kushner, Joe Kaufmann, Brigitte Gabriel, and myself, among others.

Among the speakers invited by the MSA-EZ, according to their website is Sirraj Wahhaj, identified by Assistant US Attorney Mary Jo White as an unindicted coconspirator in the government’s terror case against Egyptian Shekh Omar Abdul Rahman.

Unbelievable. And I've read of many hotels (don't remember if Marriot was among them) hosting S&M bondage groups, "swingers" groups and similar nasties.

The enemies within are just as bad as the enemies without.

Interesting..Marriott is also a foundation:

http://marriottfoundation.org

THAT also has an affiliate program.

That means they fund and sponsor people.

That COULD include human trafficking.

I'm only familiar with the hospitality type products.

I didn't realize they had anything but that.

I won't be staying as a guest at a Marriott any time soon. Screw their politically correct policies towards hosting club and association meetings.

you don't have to worry about your hotel being blown up when you host an S&M convention although you should probably allow for staff shock.

Not really that surprising....

Marriott may have considered the group a security risk, because of counter-protesters, riots and alike due to their controversial agenda (albeit proper agenda)....

The Muslim student group does not necessarily have that same issue.....

I don't see this as a political decision as much as a business decision. I wouldn't try to read too much in their choice, the hotel is probably just trying to avoid trouble......

If you'd like to be on or off this middle east/political ping list, please FR mail me.
Articles on Israel can also be found by clicking the keyword or topic Israel.

http://www.americastruthforum.com/ if anyone is interested in the offending site. There is offensive stuff there, stories about martyrdom operations against the US, muslims hoping to drink Jews blood, Iran approving the use on nukes on Israel, etc. Who wants to hear about that stuff. The Muslim students won't bring it uup, that's for sure. Needless to say Marriott wouldn't approve of Freerepublic

Marriott has a huge number of hotels in Muslim countries. It has hundreds of millions of dollars at stake if they pi$$ them off or attract raghead members.

Nice find. If I'd thought my stay at courtyards was contributing to homosexual indoctrination for my high schooler, I'd have slept in the wal-mart parkinglot. I'd better email my military friends who use the military discount there...

That is exactly what I thought: unbelievable. I am speechless. I hope bad publicity ensues with the Marriot and all its interests.

Actually, I think Marriott is owned by Muslims now. I was reading a list of Muslim owned companies (foreign Muslims, that is) today in the course of the ports dispute, and Marriott was among them. I'm not sure what country this particular group is in, but I do recall that Marriott was mentioned as being one of their companies.

Anybody have any more info?

Marriotts 'Pathways to Independence' program Funds:

National Immigration Forum and Cato Institute. In the below list, see National Immigration Forum.

Immigrants

Center for Immigration Studies
The Center for Immigration Studies is a non-partisan, non-profit organization founded in 1985. It is the nation's only think tank devoted exclusively to research and policy analysis of the economic, social, demographic, fiscal, and other impacts of immigration on the United States.
http://www.cis.org/

National Immigration Forum
The purpose of the National Immigration Forum is to embrace and uphold America's tradition as a nation of immigrants. The Forum advocates and builds public support for public policies that welcome immigrants and refugees and that are fair and supportive to newcomers in our country.
http://www.immigrationforum.org/

National Network for Immigrant and Refugee Rights
NNIRR member organizations and activists utilize the network as a tool to enhance collaboration, build and develop strategy, and push thinking and analysis "outside the box" of service provision or "quick-fix" legislation. The program aims to involve, support, and empower immigrant communities to address the critical issues in their neighborhoods and workplaces.
