SAN QUENTIN, Calif. -- The execution of a condemned killer was postponed early Tuesday after two anesthesiologists refused for ethical reasons to take part, and attorneys pursued a new round of court challenges that could delay the execution indefinitely.

Michael Morales, 46, was supposed to die by lethal injection at 12:01 a.m. But the execution was put off until at least Tuesday night after the anesthesiologists objected that they might have to advise the executioner if the inmate woke up or appeared to suffer pain.

Why don't they use abortionists, they're used to killing. But they only like killing the innocent. Hey they're all innocent in the pokey...

Why, logically, would it take an MD to inject the cocktail?

Let anyone with 10 minutes of training carry it out. If he messes up, let him try again until he gets it right.

Looks like mission accomplished. Hard to believe there was a time when I was proud of this state...

Well, if they're afraid of violating their hypocratic oath, they had no choice. As long as Morales gets justice, one more day won't make any difference.

An M.D. doesn't inject it. A technician inserts the IVs and a machine does the injecting.

The docs were there at the order of a federal judge.

After Morales' attorneys argued that the drugs can be painful (they apparently can be), the judge ordered the state to have the anaesthesiologists there to make sure he was knocked out properly before the other drugs. But part of the judge's orders were that the docs were to direct the injection of more knockout drug if needed - that is the part the docs couldn't agree to. The AMA (as far as I know) considers a doc's active participation in an execution unethical.

One little bitty, 37 grain, .22 short, behind the ear, then the injection, and I guarantee that the POS won't feel the needle, or anything else!
This ain't rocket science, folks, it is only pest control!
Any day now, I expect California to start demanding civil rights, for roaches!

From the article if you had read it:

The doctors had been brought in by a federal judge after Morales' attorneys argued that the three-part lethal injection process violates the Eighth Amendment prohibition against cruel and unusual punishment. The attorneys said a prisoner could feel excruciating pain from the last two chemicals if he were not fully sedated.

AND:

The judge approved that decision later Tuesday, but said the sedative must be administered by a person who is licensed by the state to inject medications intravenously, a group that includes doctors, nurses and other medical technicians.

Mmmmkay?

For what? It's not their job to take part in executions. They did exactly what any doctor (outside of a concentration camp) should do.

---

Use a 2 by 4 if the convicted murderer starts to come around which is highly unlikely.

If he continues to linger, hit him harder until he loses consciousness again.

Repeat 'til procedure is complete.

Just make sure it is not imported lumber. Wouldn't want a piece of punkwood used. ;-)

The death warrant expires at midnight. This scumbag will still be breathing, eating, reading, dreaming, and his victim, still dead BTW, whom he so callously murdered, calls out for justice from her grave.
