Christians in Nigeria are being slaughtered in their churches by foaming Muslims enraged by the dreaded cartoons. Being the minority Christians first tried to appease but were still brutalized. Nigerians are crying out that ABSOLUTELY NO media coverage is being given to this. Is another Muslim on Christian genocide (ie Rwanada) happening while the MSM twiddles their thumbs?
Why not arm them? Because Chritians are taught in the Bible that we will be hated and even killed by the world, and to not only expect it, but to embrace it. It is our way of sharing in Christ's sacrifice on the cross.
If someone tries to kill me or my family for our possessions, I have a Biblical right to defend myself and my family. If someone tries to kill me for my faith, I am to submit willingly in the precious Name of Jesus, and in His Blood. Christians only die from this life into eternal life with Christ. Muslims (and Atehists) die to an eternity in Hell. Death for a Christian is birth into life with Jesus.
_______________
God does not expect us to watch as our Brothers and Sisters are slaughtered. We are to defend the innocent, not stand by and say it's all just part of the plan. The plan includes loving thy enemy, not laying down for the slaughter.
These savages cowards, preying on those who can't defend themselves!
Point taken
Frankly, I don't see any harm in organizing and providing material support if the Christians there are willing to fight.
They were willing to shed blood for their beliefs.
Are you suggesting that Christians form a para-military organization?
Yes.
If you throw a rock at a pack of dogs, the one who yelps is the one you hit.
I suppose that happened in the Balkans wars - didn't Catholics send moneys to the Croats, and Orthodox groups sent money to the Serbs?
The Nazis were willing shed blood for their beliefs as well.
So were the Founding Fathers. What's your point?
Jesus encouraged his followers to arm themselves..
When arrested on Gethsemane, the Apostles were armed..
One of them cut off a soldier's ear with his sword..
The only reason Jesus went with the soldiers was it was part of His plan..
He had already stated that it would happen and named Judas as the one who would betray Him..
If Jesus had decided that He would not be arrested, and that He would escape, or fight, it would not have gone against His teachings..
Not one bit..
