U.S. terms for approving an Arab company's takeover of operations at six major American ports are insufficient to guard against terrorist infiltration, the chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee said Sunday.
"I'm aware of the conditions and they relate entirely to how the company carries out its procedures, but it doesn't go to who they hire, or how they hire people," Rep. Peter King, R-N.Y., told the Associated Press.
"They're better than nothing, but to me they don't address the underlying conditions, which is how are they going to guard against things like infiltration by al-Qaida or someone else......

No one can explain this to you, except as something they probably thought was going to pass under the radar.

I am sure they will use the famous quote: "No one here will do this kind of work".
Republican or Demo the lines are getting blur by the day. Immigration and now this.
"Congress is welcome to look at this and can get classified briefings," Chertoff told CNN's "Late Edition."
"We HAVE TO balance the paramount urgency of security against the fact that we still want to HAVE a robust GLOBAL TRADING trading system," he added.
peter king who voted no on impeachment pushing the hillary/schumer talking points(lies).
The Security Agencies, who did all the investigation and background checks were blown off or sneered at by the Democrats, their junk journalists propagandists and Republican Congress critter Media whores. Meanwhile the FACTS of the case are being ignored in order for everyone to gleefully parrot a DEMOCRAT Press release.
HERE is the logical diagram on this story. A company based in UAE is taking over port operations. UAE is an Arab Country. Arabs committed 9-11. Bush is turning Port Security over to the Terrorists! Not ONE fact or logically valid assumption is presented in any of these stories. The fact that the Port Operation company has NO security functions is either willfully or inadvertently left OUT of the story. Instead it is all basically a racist, guilty by accusation and rumor smear job. The people who ACTUALLY know the facts like DHS etc are being laughed at or ignored so supposedly "Conservatives" can gleefully push Democrat Election Campaign propaganda. Simply amazing how willfully ignorant some "Conservatives" are about how the Junk Journalists lie to them. Just like Flush the Koran, Rather Gate, Fitzmus, Downing Street Memo and dozens and dozens of other LIES manufactured by the DNC and fed to the Failed Media, THIS story is a LIE.
This Muslim buying into our port system thing is a winner for the socialists(dems).
The republicans better get on board quickly, and stop it, or the dems will get the advantage, and undo years of being perceived correctly as soft on terrorism.
The Dems will then portray the republicans as people who want to open our ports to potential terrorist activity.
The republicans have got to get the Bushies to change their mind on letting the Muslim United Arab Emirates getting the camels nose into our ports.
If the dems get some traction on the issue; the press will help spin it in favor of the dems as a worse situation than it really is,thus maximizing the advantage to the Dems. - tom
It should be noted also that if we see a lot of muslims being hired to work at these port facilities then for sure we will be in trouble. Most muslims in this country are unfortunately sympathetic to Al Qaeda, Hamas and other terrorist elements. They cannot be trusted. Again Congress should make a further REVIEW. I am embarrassed for the Bush Administration to be so accepting of this arrangement. It is also very bad politics and plays into the hands of Liberals and Democrats.
A Islamazi-Gub'Mint OWNED Company, one with Bin Laden Group connections, AND has been linked to Nuke transfers to N. Korea is attempting to gain oversight/control of 6 East Coast Ports...and you all think this is a GREAT Idea because...?
My G_D! Did he co-write that song with Charlie Daniels too?!?
King was wrong on impeachment...we all know that. Doesn't mean he's wrong here.
You and others like you are.
Ditto Itzlzha.
Everyone go read the Maritime links, etc. They have all been posted. Read the protocols. By the way the thing I found interesting was at the homeland security site their was nothing under maritime news and it hadn't been updated since 2004.
The mere fact that they say such things makes it difficult to protect our civilization against this assault from a backward death cult. But if they actually believe the crap they say, then we are in very grave danger.
"But if they actually believe the crap they say, then we are in very grave danger."
Well that's a good question. I bet Bush does believe it, I sincerely think he's like Ann Frank, thinking most people are basically good. I used to think that myself, for decades I thought it, now I am not so sure. It's not just 9/11, but that helped, very disturbing to find out some peole would really like to kill ME, personally, people who don't even know ME personally. It is also some things that have happened more recently in my own personal life. It is also stuff like watching "Hotel Rawanda" which I finally did last night. Excellent movie, but very disturbing. I applaud those who made it and I ask God's blessing for that man who helped save so many people.
So, I think Bush is naive, he's basically a good person and he thinks other people are like that too. It is important to realize that each and every one of us has the potential for evil inside of us. As for Rice, based on her personal history, I'd venture she's a bit more realistic on this subject than Bush.
Whats the WHite House e-mail address again?? Talk about stupid deals...I wonder who's bright idea this was?
Dem or Republican? Talk of political advatages aside,...does turning these ports over to Muslims seem like such a good idea??
The rapture may be close at hand? There is no other possible explanation why Schumer and Boxer seem to be making sense. The fact that they are making political hay,...well, whose fault is that?
