Things didn't work out well at the Olympics for Johnny Weir, the flamboyant American figure skater. Favored to take home a medal, he finished a disappointing fifth after a very rugged long program.
But Johnny shouldn't feel too bad. When he hangs up the skates, there could be a promising second career for him . . . as a member of the liberal media.
Interviewed on CBS' Early Show this morning, Weir explained that he knew he wasn't at his best on the day of the long program, and in particular wasn't "feeling pretty." Then, waxing philosophical, he noted that things aren't always perfect. If they were, Michelle Kwan would be skating, and "we wouldn't be in Iraq."
This isn't Johnny's first foray into political opinion at these Olympics. As NewsBuster David Pierre has pointed out, Weir has been seen sporting a Soviet Union retro jacket and has been heard to inveigh against "Republican-style people."
Hmm. With Katie Couric rumored to be moving to the CBS Evening News, there could be an opening at Today, Johnny!
His girlfriend is a Russian skater and supposedly gave him the jacket. So he does have a girlfriend. But wearing a CCCP jacket? When are Gestapo jackets coming back?
No gold medal, but with an attitude like that he's still a strong contender for a Nobel Peace Prize.
....... you left out Janet Reno.
The little sissy's just having a snit.
"Didn't he wear the warm-up jacket with "CCCP" emblazened on the front?"
Yup: http://newsbusters.org/node/4096
Of course, that out of hours of potential Olympics coverage CBS chose to run a clip of a fifth-place finisher's shot against the Iraq war says something about Black Rock's own bias.
Must have been haging around with Brian Gumbel:
"So try not to laugh when someone says these are the world's greatest athletes, despite a paucity of blacks that makes the Winter Games look like a GOP convention." ----- Bryant Gumbel, HBO's Real Sports, Feb. 7, 2006.
He has a "girlfriend in name only". Weir plays for the other team - so to speak.
"flamboyant American figure skater"
Flamboyant?
The girlfriend could likely just be cover ........ just like the jacket is cover.
It is suggested to male figure skaters who may be gay not to come out of the closet at least until after the Olympics.
LOL.
And I thought Seinfeld looked faggy in his puffy shirt! Wow!
I am a figure skater and I love the sport. But Johnny Weir does us all a diservice, to say the least.
He has dissed his country and he has dissed the sport. His low marks on his long program were partly a message from the judges to clean up his act. However, I don't think he 'gets it.'
All I can say is that he probably won't be around much longer since he has no quad jumps and thus isn't competitive. The mission of US Figure skating is to win medals and he isn't helping that cause without at least one reliable quad jump.
Frankly, the biggest reason most people don't like Gays today is their politics, not their perversions. If they'd focus on something besides the fate of fellatio, maybe on say the concerns of the rest of humanity, we could consider them a part of the family of mankind. Instead, their politics is all about homosexuality with most of them. Then they also become poseurs for weird Left Wing causes. And much of homosexual behavior is about shocking ordinary people. That's why Johnny Weir is wearing that the Soviet era jacket. It's going to be fun watching European Gays and American Gays embrace militant Islam since it will shock most people - especially those Republican ones - only to be spurned by the Muslim nut cases.
Flaming.....
What are the odds Johnny knows what a 'gulag' is? This is the same kind of ignorant fashion statement you see on people sporting Che Guevara T-shirts, unaware of his murderous history.
And in a perfect world, little Johnny would be a prissy male.
