Q: Have we seen the end of the Dick Cheney shooting-spree story?
A: No. I don't think so, only because it's got to make it through the Sunday news cycle. I think after that it'll probably go away. From all that we've seen, it just seems like a terrible accident ... . I thought he came across as very sincere in Brit Hume's interview.

I tried to listen. Couldn't do it. Guess I'm just not a Great American.

No, you're a great American with a higher standard.

FreeRepublic has some of the greatest researchers that exist anywhere. They feed conservative talkers with all kinds of data. --- Right on!
If the talkers get something wrong...they get it wrong...but they do not deserve to be trashed by their own people. --- BUT, they do deserve and REQUIRE those of us with honest criticism to come forward with that criticism.
It's not "TRASHING" as you continually whine. It is meant by some as constructive criticism.
I have been working in conservative politics since I was handing out "I Like Ike" buttons in '56. So your constant bull about "trashing" is just wrong-headed. Some of us care most likely even more than you do. And we chose to give our opinions on how Sean could be much more influential.
If Sean can't stand to hear that many out here think he'd be even more effective if he cut down on the sanctimonious tone (and improve his poor debating skills), then it's too damn bad for him. Then, that just means he's being petulant and really doesn't care about the conservative message as he proclaims nearly every moment of his life.

I've found Sean Hannity to be surprisingly easy to ignore. Agreed.
Someone should provide him with a new list of talking points, he's beginning to sound like a broken record.

And one thing I find truly disturbing is how the Able Danger story is going unreported by them.Yes, and how about the relative quiet concerning all of Jayna Davis' material on OKC?

Talk radio has turned into selling books and low level shouting matches plus guests with an agenda. LOL.
I'm still waiting for some enterprising host, one with some courage I suppose, to go find out to where the debutante Carol Howe (ATF/Elohim City/OKC) disappeared.
Maybe someone like Sean should interview Patrick Knowlton when dear Hillary runs in 2008.
;-)

I'm sorry to the Sean lovers, that "Great American" spiel is just not great. And, Sean's whole "solemn vow," "blood oath" thing is absurd.

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/keyword?k=BarrettReportI really don't like to hear Democrats but I still appreciate Hannity, and all the other conservative radio talk show hosts. Where would we be without them? The market decides who is best. Hannity is doing just fine.
To: ClancyJ
Hannity appeals to a lot of people because he hates what is happening to the "culture" and "heritage" of this great country. Yes, he knows his audience and he plays to it. But he is sincere in wanting what is best for this country over what is good for the individual. I know I may be a little naive in my political beliefs, but I want a little flag-waving and good old American pride in my daily life. And Sean provides that.

Howard Stern, Jerry Povich, and Jerry Springer would agree with you....... and that is the problem.

But if that flag-waving comes off as somewhat simple-minded and robotic, then that can defeat the purpose.

Yes, and how about the relative quiet concerning all of Jayna Davis' material on OKC?
Not a peep. Maybe they are afraid they will be accused of Clinton bashing? LOL Much of what happened *then* is relevant to what is happening *now* and deserves some discussion.
I sent some of the Big Boys links like the one below. It is a short audio segment on NPR about something they should have picked up and ran with...but not a peep...and if they are silent on that...what else are they not talking about?

BTW...I didn't say either that we here at FR should not criticize talk radio when it is needed and warranted. I know for sure that Hannity, Rush, Tony Snow and our own David Gold all monitor FR on while they are on the air. So if they go off the reservation, it is our obligation to at least say something....who knows, we just may present them with a perspective that they haven't thought of.I said that in (53)...you either didn't read deep enough or you chose to ignore it. Constructive criticism is good...bad mouthing the people who have the platform to get the message out to the "masses" is not. ...
What you call "constructive criticism" to many here looks a lot like trying to persuade people to abandon Sean Hannity.
BTW...I have been around a lot longer than you..I actually did hand out I like Ike buttons..for I was 19 in '56.
Seriously...I don't think that we are on the same page as far as wanting the talkers "on the right track". It's just the method that we use to keep them there that I have a problem with.

I'm proud to share my political foxhole with SH, and he is a great American, but if I have to send someone out to meet the enemy with repartee' and intellect, Sean won't be near the top of my list.

Yes, and how about the relative quiet concerning all of Jayna Davis' material on OKC? I said something on the TS thread about lack of coverage from him and he said that he had covered it a lot and said something like what else should he do?
I sent a freepmail to TS to have Jayna Davis on his show. Well he never replied and never had her on.

He must have covered it during the commercial breaks or something. Having Jayna Davis on would boost his ratings; she is very personable.

Nice guy but an inside the beltway softie, imo. Yup. He has a clever explanation of why he's so easy on his guests and if you disagree you're admitting that you're stupid.
He's not on my must listen list.
