Remember Savage is number 3 in talk radio.

Says you, without credible evidence.

The Skype issue that PD raised is a legitimate concern. The media has played you, Savage, Schumer, Santorum, and everyone else who agrees with them like a damn bunch of fools.

One thing I do know is I don't trust anything coming out of a Shumer or Clinton.

No FReeper should, that's the rub. The fact they're playing this down as some national security risk is a load of bushwa. They haven't been concerned about national security in the past, and they damn well won't be in the future.

Rick Santorum? Another democrat using this as a political issue!!! /sarcasm

Gee, I thought everyone said he was a RINO. In fact, he's not. He's just clueless to the fact that this was nothing more than a company buyout.

Too bad the press has been so focused on Cheney that this nearly slid under the radar.

The media and the people in power have got the facts all wrong about this issue and are playing people for fools.

Some people on this thread think when they drive up to a port entrance gatehouse, they will be met by some guy in a turban with an ak-47 named Abdul.

It sounded like Schumer was starting to push for a billion dollar device to check for radiation at each port, or something like that.

That idea isn't exactly Schumer's idea. In fact, Tom Ridge proposed that.

"You claimed that Savage solved some of our country's problems" You're drinking too much coffee, (or something a little stronger). I said Savage HELPS solve some of our country's problem.

Oh, wow, you got me. Staggering error on my part. Changes everything.

There are many important issues that he has brought to the awareness of the American public, and that have been addressed as a result. One of them is, in fact, that he helped get President Bush elected, twice.

Was the country unaware Bush was running until Savage brought this to America's attention?

I'd love to see evidence that Savage won Bush even a single vote. I guess all those liberals who listen to Savage thought "You know, Mike's making a lot of sense, I'm voting for Bush."

You have said he has no solutions, that he only rants. Yet one of the solutions to our problems that he has espoused, is a plan to throw down the A.C.L.U.

Michael Savage came up with the idea of confronting the ACLU? Wow, he's a genius--no one ever thought of THAT before!

He believes it can be done through the federal R.I.C.O. statues, (if anyone has the ba!!$ to try it), just as they were used to silence various pro-life organizations.

He sure has helped that happen. How many arrests have been made? And don't say "None, because that idiot Bush" who Mikey got elected, supposedly, so what does that make Mikey? "won't do it!"

But you aren't talking about ideas he's floated, you claimed he helped solve problems. So how has he helped solve this problem? By talking about it? We do that here everyday.

He has greatly helped to raise American awareness of our disastrously pourous southern border. Now even some bushbots are pushing the President to do something about this shameful chink in our armor against terrorists.

Lou Dobbs, Bill O'Reilly, Neil Cavuto have done that.

Again, Savage is talking about something. He's not done one thing to prevent one illegal from coming in.

Another is the Marine Lt. (Pantano),

Why the parenthsis? Is this a cut-and-paste job?

a true American hero whom the military is claiming "murdered" two (terrorists) in the fight for Fallujah. (Pantano is the Marine who left a high paying Wall St. job to go fight in Iraq). He has raised tens of thousands of dollars for Lt. Pantano's legal defense fund and inspired thousands of Americans to write to their Senators and the White House. After getting thousands of people to write their Senators, and raising enough money for a strong defense attorney, the military finally decided to drop the charges and release him from prison.

http://washingtontimes.com/national/20050214-121803-1937r.htm

The Washington Times was there first--Savage did a good thing here, but he certainly came in late in the game, after Congressman Walter Jones, Newsmax (which published a list of people to contact), Michelle Malkin and others, including the man's mom.

There is no mention of Savage in this piece about his exhoneration on the official site, but there is this:

http://www.defendthedefenders.org/20050527_washtimes.html

"The decision yesterday by Maj. Gen. Richard Huck, commander of the 2nd Marine Division at Camp Lejeune, N.C., to throw out the charges comes after mounting evidence the last two months that Lt. Pantano acted within the rules of engagement. Over a half-dozen Marines testified about Lt. Pantano's abilities at a hearing in April."

Looks to me like the man's innocence and the testimony of six witnesses freed him, not Michael Savage, as much as he and his bots wish it to be so.

Unless you're claiming this guy would have gone to jail without Savage's assistance, I don't see the point, other than that, as with Bush's election, he was just one of the crowd.

But like any successful talk show host, he helps mostly by making the peole aware of problems, and trying to inspire them to get off their arses and work for change. That's why I like his emotionalism, it makes people listen and think. I'm equally sure that it turns other people off, but he's getting the job done.

So he's a talk show host, one of thousands, who's been involved in a few things that others started.

He's a nothing compared to Limbaugh. He makes noise after others have found stories.

For someone who slams Bush who is making real positive differences in the world, while praising a talk show host, saying he's "getting the job done' because he's talking about subjects that other people have already brought up, and other people are doing something about and not just yapping about it and bitching at what others are doing strikes me as specious at best, and shallow at worst.

He talks. Bush does. I criticize Bush, and that makes me a Bushbot, while you seem to have as many delusions of grandeur about Savage as he has about himself.

That's why he's either loved or hated, everyone KNOWS he's effective.

That's your spin. Can't you just accept that the rest of us who say we don't like him because he's irritating are telling the truth? Why do YOU get to decide our opinion?

He's both loud and boring. That's why I hate him. No, "everyone" doesn't "KNOW" he's effective--you honestly think conservatives like me don't like him because he's "effective"? Gimme a break. You've claimed he's saved a Marine whose honesty and integrity and witnesses saved him; you've claimed he got Bush re-elected--that's bull, period. You claim he's some kind of pioneer in sounding the alarm about the borders, something Dobbs and O'Reilly have been doing for ages.

Stop being such a Savagebot and accept that many just like him because he's loud and insulting and you enjoy that.

But in all honesty, I think he's done for far more good for Bush than harm. It's just that he's not afraid to call him when he's wrong.

LOL Yeah, everyone else is "afraid" to call Bush wrong--yup, NO ONE criticizes Bush! LOL!!

And hiring Arab muslims to help with our port security is one of those times Bush is W-R-O-N-G.

Nonsense. Pure Democrat nonsense.

So Schumer is willing to give the finger to the unions in order to get re-elected. Brilliant strategery. He'll be re-elected. The people in his district adore him. And he just showed with his brilliant move he doesn't give a damn about the little people.

There are many important issues that he has brought to the awareness of the American public, and that have been addressed as a result. One of them is, in fact, that he helped get President Bush elected, twice.

Actually the Democrats did that by their own volition, through the mainstream media.

The large majority of the voters saw that the Democrats were soft on terror, saw the Democrats siding with the terrorists, realized the Demorats were against the war in Iraq (thought it was and still is wrong), saw the Democrat acting goofy on a variety of issues, realize Democrats have long been supportive of gay marriages, knew the Democrats had a history of supporting abortion, saw that the Democrats supported the killing of Terri Schiavo, were engaged in judicial activism all across this country, against free speech, against freedom of religion, against an ownership society, for higher taxes, and were smart enough to figure out that 2+2=4. Many of these brilliant people, like Zell Miller, have been lifelong Democrats. They themselves don't support the far left of the Democrat party.

The Democrat party leadership has demonstrated that they can't be trusted with the rod of power.

Rush Limbaugh has been beating that drum for over 18 years now. Rush opened doors for that ranting lunatic Savage. Savage just doesn't have the onions to thank Rush.

I was painting with a broad brush I apologize for the heated remarks, we shall see how this pans out, my original statement stands. If Chucky is against it I am for it. I know DUBAI is a close ally, if you define close loosely.

They inspect 100% of the cargo. They physically check the percentage you state.

Port Operators aren't responsible for security in the sense of border protection nor in the sense of cargo legitimacy.

If you bemoan the fact that Customs only opens up a few boxes, I'm really confused as to why you think the nationality of a dock worker would make the situation worse... Port Operators currently inspect ZERO% of cargo.

Thats not their job.
