You never heard me complain about the COSCO and Unocal acquisitions. What did Chuck Schumer and Peter King have to say about those COSCO and Unocal acquisitions?

. . .

I didn't think so.

Everyone knows the ports are not being purchased.

Just because some people use a sort of shorthand to describe this doesn't mean we don't understand the issue.

The operations at 6 of the ports are being farmed out to a UAE company.

And as Schumer said, those operations will be targeted by terrorists attempting to infiltrate the operations. That's the point.

We know the ports aren't being sold! It's not only some of the dems opposing this deal, Coburn, Foley, King are repubs.

Michelle Malkin like Schumer, Dobbs, Cavuto, Clinton, it goes across party lines, realize this is not a smart deal. The Bush Administration is wrong on this one. I don't know what his problem is that he would make a deal that could be used politically against him and Republicans in the next election. He doesn't have everybody's undying loyalty. People consider this a stab in America's back.

Her supposed UAE link to 9-11 is beyond weak. So Al Qaeda used some banks to launder money in the UAE. Big deal!

Yup no big deal (from her post):

"And while the Bush folks now consider the UAE a major ally in the war against terror, the Treasury Department has been stonewalled by the emirates, and other Arab countries, in trying to track Osama bin Laden's bank accounts."

Whenever Savage feels personally offended by repubs or democrats he finds a liberal to genuflect to. He coulda called any one of a dozen prominent repubs & gotten the same interview.

I can't believe so many people bitching about this here are buying this spin hook line and sinker. And they talk about Bush having no backbone! All it takes is a few minutes of research to see this has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with port security.

Please review every post on every thread about this topic today, and then get back to me.

The news that "these ports are being sold" must come as a huge surprise to the agencies and authorities that really do own them -- and have absolutely nothing to do with the proposed acquisition of P&O Ports by that UAE company.

I didn't mean to include Coburn in there among the repubs.

"You sound so automatic without caring about the facts and the dangers here. To you selling the ports doesn't matter because if Bush says it's alright, that is good enough."

You're telling me I don't care about facts and you're STILL spouting the lie that the ports are being sold?? Good gosh, you sound as knee jerk as a Democrat! PORTS AREN'T BEING SOLD. The operations company that runs them is, by a British company. It's like saying an office building is being sold when a different cleaning service is being brought in. The ports are STILL going to be in US hands. And ANY of the ports can opt to go with a new operations company if they choose and not deal with the new one DWI. Does that sound like ownership of the port to you? The port authority is still in control of the ports. They are the client. The UAE based company, DWI, is the vendor. The company that offloads and moves containers is what's being sold. No power nor jurisdiction over the ports is being put into anyone else's hands! Can I get any more clear than this?

And my demanding accuracy on this has nothing to do with what Bush wants or doesn't want. I have no opinion on it one way or another. I just want YOU to get the facts right and to stop buying into Democratic propaganda!

THE FUNNY THING IS THAT IT IS A BIPARTISAN VICTORY TO GET THIS STOPPED. SAVAGE IS GIVING ALL THE CREDIT TO THE RATS.

Savage is a sleeper...

They hindered the Federal Bureau of Investigation's investigation into the bombing of the military barracks in Dhahran. They pretend to be our allies and know we would pull their asses out of the fire if we had to. They are using us as usual they are the part of the Enemy within.

Is this just the most amazing feeding frenzy of inaccuracy you have ever seen?? The nuts on the far right are as intellectually lazy as the nuts on the far left! I'm embarrassed to be associated with some of these simpletons and to watch them actually eating out of Chucky Schumers hands! AMAZING!

This is why the so-called "conservative media" is rapidly following CBS and the New York Times into oblivion.

Are they following or leading? :)

If they buy the co., they control it.
Which means that they MAY put our security at risk.
Not good.
Mike is not a fool, he may be too rough sometimes, but 90% of the time he is right.
This time included.

the company that operates the port has more influence over what goes on there, then the so-called "owner" of the port.

if you own an apartment building, and you hire me to operate it - I hire the workers who service the buildings, the trash collection agency, who services the air conditioners, collects the rents, the repair and renovation subcontractors, collects coins from the laundry machines, etc. you own the building, I operate it under contract from you. who has more control over the day to day comings and goings at that apartment building, me or you?

if I want to rent an apartment to some AQ terrorists because they have clear line of site from their window to a local airport, where they can fire a missile into a plane - who has more of a chance to allow that to happen, me as the operator, or you as the owner?
