Vice President Dick Cheney returned to his home state Friday, getting a standing ovation from lawmakers shortly after the lawyer he accidentally shot made his first public comments about last Saturday's hunting trip.
"I want to thank you for that welcome home," Cheney told the Wyoming lawmakers.
"It's a wonderful experience to be greeted by such warmth by the leaders of our great state. It's especially true when you've had a very long week. Thankfully, Harry Whittington is on the mend and doing very well."

I hope that little weasel, David Gregory, tries to set foot in Wyoming, watching his back and having someone test taste his food might be a good idea, ;) I wonder where in the Constitution does it say that the Whitehouse MUST invite the "press corps" to come in and stage the hissy fits they call questions to people like Gregory and Helen Thomas? They contribute nothing but hate and are a complete waste of time and expense for the American taxpayers. Oh well, they do lend a sense of the ridiculous to the beltway incest.

Dick and Harry should go quail hunting one more time this year, as soon as possible, and invite a camera crew from Fox News.

Standing ovations are very overused these days. I just heard that the editor of that fraudulent book that Oprah shilled for got a standing ovation from the other editors & staff back at the publishing house, when she returned from the Oprah 'confrontation' episode.
The standing ovation is hackneyed and overused.

Doesn't Wyoming have a Dem senator? Maybe Cheney should run for that seat. It would be the one scenario where I think it would be ok for him to leave before the term is up, in order to increase the number of conservatives in the Senate.

Good. In that case, Cheney can stay put. I must be thinking of North Dakota and Montana.

Yep, unfortunately ND has 2 Dem Senators and MT has 1 (with the Rep Conrad Burns up for reelection and in danger). It's a crying shame.
