"I don't feel the need to express my sexual being because it's not part of my sport and it's private," Weir writes. "I can sleep with whomever I choose and it doesn't affect what I'm doing on the ice, so speculation is speculation." Wow, keeping your personal life personal. And everyone accepts him for the ATHLETE and ENTERTAINER he is... Imagine that!

I always assumed that most male figure skaters were at best medium-weight in the skates...how 'bout you?

Wow, keeping your personal life personal. And everyone accepts him for the ATHLETE and ENTERTAINER he is... Imagine that! But, but, there's no money in that... For the media, that is. The media would love it, LOVE it, if he 'came out'. He'd be bigger than Brokeback Mountain, they'd have a new, hot poster boy. I can just see the befuddled media, sipping their lattes in Turin, crossing their fingers, oh, let it be true....

The 8-page sports section of the Chicago Tribune spent more than a page (two different stories) about this, including photographs. Plus a teaser on Page 1. Meanwhile actual sports stories from the Olympics and elsewhere go unreported.

Yup, he will not be on the Medals podium, and from what I saw, he doesn't deserve it

Johnny Weir's style/mystique is wonderfully androgynous and he is an exquisite figure skater - interpretation and classical form. Beauty is truth and truth is beauty...Today, in Torino, Johnny was a wilted flower.

Skated like a wimp, and not to his ability so we get to hear the Russian National Anthem again. No killer instinct in MR Weir's pants, tonight. Too much Olympic partying?

Good heavens. As one wise old relative of mine would say when commenting about an effeminate "man" . . .
"He's really got all his flags out, doesn't he?"
