Hit Refresh? Why Bush may be thinking about replacing Cheney. Thursday, February 16, 2006 12:01 a.m. EST The Dick Cheney shooting incident will, in a way, go away. And, in a way, not--ever. Some things stick. Gerry Ford had physically stumbled only once or twice in public when he became, officially, The Stumbler. Mr. Ford's stumbles seemed to underscore a certain lack of sure-footedness in his early policies and other decisions. The same with Jimmy Carter and the Killer Rabbit.

She and MoDo and Ariana are a triumvirate of bitter *itches.
1. It won't happen. Cheney's not leaving.
2. If he does, Mike Pence, but like #1, that won't happen, either.
Forgot to ping you.
Despicable, isn't it?
What's with this beech? She's lost her friggin' mind.
RIP peggy
Making Cheney out to be some kind of Ford or Carter moron shall forever be the last straw in my mind.
Nothing you have ever accomplished will mean a damn thing to me from this day forward. You've become a kook.
Ridiculous. Bush respects Cheney. He wouldn't want to replace Cheney, nor will he.
To replace a steady, experienced vice president just before the 2006 Congressional elections would inject a sense of uncertainty and diminution to the image of the Presidency at the very worst time. Senate Democrats would become even more vituperative toward Cheney's replacement, who would not have had the experience that Cheney has had in dealing with the likes of Reid, Durbin, Shumer, Hillary! and the rest of that contemptible crowd.
A replacement Vice President would be a weak lame duck rather than a strong hand who would command respect.
I can't imagine why this would be a good idea.
If he does this I have lost all respect for him. The Vice Pres made a typical hunting mistake.
Sounds like Peggy's been hitting the sauce.
I got nearly eaten alive after my distrustful and nonenthusiastic response to Noonan's dissing of President Bush's Speech...I believe it was his Inaugural speech or the first State of the Union, anyway, about a year (at least) or so ago, Noonan came up with a really petty, nearly vindictive sounding nasty column about Bush and appeared on a few broadcasts with the same sort of stuff, and, I wrote about it and received more than a few terse "correcting" comments from other Republicans afterward (at least they said they were).
I think my perspective was right. She was a great speechwriter when she undoubtedly had an equally well expressive person to write for (Reagan) but, left to her own devices, she comes up with near moonbattery columns at times of great import that leaves me routinely wondering about her.
He is such an honest, decent, honorable, GOOD man. Perhaps that's why Peggy wants him dumped.
Because she is no longer ANY of those things.
This is despicable. Just despicable.
Peggy peggy Peggy
What ever happened to you?
GWB is never going to dump Cheney and he shouldn`t.
If I had my way, Cheney would be the next President
Peggy is pushing 60, but she plays at being a 15 year old coquette, whenever she's on Hannity and Butthead.
It wouldn't happen until after the '06 elections.
Peggy's jealousy came through loud and clear on that one.
But it wasn't as hideous as this......
That's what I would LOVE to see. But Cheney needs to rest after his valiant service to this country.
He has sacrificed enough. God bless this man!
