Ridiculous. Bush respects Cheney. He wouldn't want to replace Cheney, nor will he.

To replace a steady, experienced vice president just before the 2006 Congressional elections would inject a sense of uncertainty and diminution to the image of the Presidency at the very worst time. Senate Democrats would become even more vituperative toward Cheney's replacement, who would not have had the experience that Cheney has had in dealing with the likes of Reid, Durbin, Shumer, Hillary! and the rest of that contemptible crowd.

A replacement Vice President would be a weak lame duck rather than a strong hand who would command respect.

I can't imagine why this would be a good idea.

It's not a good idea. It's about as foolish as her entire last article about the Coretta King funeral.

She's far gone.
