My Dad is doing great. Having a dog to walk is really good for him. Shadow, they settled on name, is sooooo mellow. Any thought of a watch dog is a pipe dream. He still limps, but there is no way to keep him completely quiet. I forgot to ask if the vet checked his hips.

They do seem to be a good match. A puppy was never an option. My Dad is almost 83 and my Mom just turned 81 and starting with a puppy is/was not in the cards. Someone has really trained him well. The vet thinks he might be 5ish.

A lot of The Kids have missions where we never leave the wire, so we never see the local bazaars.
We have the KBR chow hall (which Sarge enjoys), the PX (which Sarge doesn't usually get to), and the goodies sent by caring Americans (which Sarge cooks himself and shares with The Kids).

Haliburton's subsidiary, Kellogg-Brown-Root (KBR) is the contractor that runs our dining facility.
It's a small walk to good food.
