VIENNA, February 15 (Itar-Tass) - Visiting Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov warns against imposing sanctions on Iran.

“Sanctions, should they ever be imposed on Iran, will not help solve the situation,” he said.

The International Atomic Energy Agency “should continue its work to clear up questions over Iran’s nuclear activity in the past,” Lavrov said.

“It is necessary for Iran not only not to secede from the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons but also to return to the negotiating table,” Lavrov said on Wednesday.

“We must create conditions for the presence of the IAEA in Iran and for Tehran’s interaction with the Agency,” he added.

“We will press for the implementation of the decisions that are supported by China, the European troika, and the U.S.,” Lavrov said on Wednesday.

“We must act together in order to get some result,” he said.

I guess our dear Russian friends haven't learned much.

They will. One way or another.

It's sad to think that the evil empire isn't dead. I had thought President Reagan had slain the beast.

Our beloved 40th President slashed off nearly all the heads of the Soviet Medusa, but like you - I fear that one of them has grown back, more potentially vicious than any of it's predecessors. The Union of Soviet Socialist Republics may be dead and gone, but the Union of Sneaky Sly Russians is alive and well.

They are smarter this time. They have makeovers and professional images teams...but they are the same evil that threatened us before.

I do believe that there won't be any sanctions if the Russians excercise their veto power. Probably the best thing that could happen since that would allow us to put the U.N. back in it's box on the shelf and deal with Iran in our own way.

I have to agree with that completely. Blow them up. That's the only thing that will work.

It looks like those KGB eyes of Putin fooled President Bush.....
I really doubt we can count on the Russians or China against Iran...

Iran and the lunatic Muslims are their tools, to weaken ...if not destroy America.

Time for the U.S. and our true allies to show the folly of pulling our tail or threatened our annihilation....

Well, he got this part correct. Sanctions won't do a dam thing. All they'll do is create another oil for food program the opportunist' will skim from.

Didn't ANYBODY except for Iran learn from Saddam & Iraq?

I read the comments of Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and I have no doubt he was authorizing a nuclear strike against Iran, should Iran fail to come to their senses.

I think we should evaluate this situation from a different perspective. I believe the entire world hates mooselimbs worse than they hate the US. Mooselimbs are completely ignorant, their governments are ignorant, mooselimb citizens do not get along with their own governments well enough to allow those governments to remain in power for very long, therefore those mooselimb governments have to distract with the help of imams the masses, to have the masses hate something other than the mooselimbs' government. The rest of the world doesn't like a nation of murderers and the world isn't going to put up with mooselimbs with A-Bombs, other than Pakistan, and India is still looking carefully at Pakistan. All sane governments are going to do all in their power to remove the threat of any mooselimbs with an A-Bomb or near to having an A-Bomb.

The Europeans pretend to hate Israel thus to try and appear friendly to their own Arab populations, but the Europeans have learned quickly one can't appease the mooselimbs. The world isn't stupid, and the world isn't going to jump us if we jump mohammad (may the dung of 1 million pigs be upon him). Get your popcorn ready, this is going to be fun, when mohammad (may the dung of 1 million pigs be upon him) realizes he screwed up.
