I will agree with you that it is "stupid" to think that the Republican nominee has to be Vice President. However, it is surely helps. I firmly believe that people get comfortable with who they see in the White House and then will not want to change so quick. Logical - no. Reality - I believe so. Why else would Hollywood be so quick to put on a show about a woman President. They want the general public comfortable and seasoned to the idea.
Again for the record, I would vote for Cheney in a New York minute if he were running in 2008 and I do NOT think he should resign because of this silly manufactured scandal.

I may be a minority of one in this opinion, but I applaud the Vice President for NOT thinking first and foremost of himself and the public relations aspects of this accident. We maybe in the minority of 2 because I agree with you

The sheriff himself said they called him personally within ten minutes. And, IIRC, the authorities in TX don't even have to be notified in the event of a non-lethal hunting accident. I haven't seen the MSM mentioning that.

I want to know if Jack Cafferty called David Gregory or the AP or even informed CNN when he ran over a mail carrier last year.
If memory serves me correctly, he left the scen of the accident too.

I disagree with your assertion that he didn't think of the public relations aspect.
That man knows exactly what he's doing at all times.

I'm listening to Matthews and Gregory.
Matthews is asking who "time out the schedule to make sure that this didn't get out until after the Sunday morning talk shows?"
Now where did that come from?

You remember when Hillie's entourage tried to run that airport checkpoint a few years back and injured one of the cops trying to stop them? Anyone remember the MSM raising any Cain about that? I sure as bleep don't.

I think that's the more snuzzy feeling we all want, but it's probably not true.
Dick Cheney took advantage of a sad situation and by letting a small newspaper get the story, he poked a finger in the eye of the liberal, near treasonous MSM.
Buying him time was not his motive.

I had to be gone from 3PM on, and just got access to the computer. I did get to hear the entire interview, which was quite good. I also was delighted to hear Brit's zinger at the end of the program!
One thing that caused much discussion yesterday was the delay, and a lot of blame fell on the White House press staff. Now according to what I heard, the decision was made by Cheney himself, the press staff in DC didn't agree but he overrode them, and there were no press people with him on the trip.
So now, hopefully, the discussion on this will end. Cheney made the decision, he stands by it, and that's the way it is.
P.S. Was Shep as obnoxious about this as I predicted early this afternoon?

I wish he'd have the awesome Dr. Charles Krauthammer on every day. I can be in another room, and whenever I hear his voice, I come running!
